I looked it up and revised to 30K. But yea premium models lose more value but are easier to sell to private parties. The tech in premium packages gets outdated fast for one. Even just in one model year they are already moving to sync 3

It's really not that much of speed upgrade going from a modded ecoboost. There are a ton of modded EBs running stock GT times now. I'm fairly confident I could run high 12s with good air right now. fwiw I test drove a 2015 5.0 and was not impressed for all the hype
A stock ecoboost is a good 8-10 mph slower than a stock GT (same driver, DA and track). A stock GT will still run a faster mph in the 1/4 than a tuned ecoboost.
I like the idea of the turbo 4 option in the stang and no doubt an EcoBoost can run good with some bolt ons but the potential of the GT is clearly much higher.

When is enough enough? Potential is only limited by your budget. When I get my car back it will take a supercharged GT to keep up with it, which means my turbo 4 will be faster than the vast majority of GTs out there.

On similar engine platforms people have achieved 700whp out of these motors. A lot of that power was turbo and way to the right on the graph but it can be done. Where I live is winter and snow half the year so a fully bolted EBM is plenty especially in the snow for daily duty. All boils down to the person and what you want out of it.

You're clearly missing the point. Having a higher mph in the 1/4 means absolutely nothing for a daily driver. It's all about seat of the pants feeling and maybe some light to light racing. Why shouldn't someone want to be thrown back in the seat AND get great gas mileage

Why are you hating it now? I remember you running really good times with your 3.31 GT. How come you didn't go with the 15' GT?

Interesting the EcoBoost isn't holding value. My friend already traded his base 15' 5.0 for another 15' 5.0 with the features he wanted. He ended up getting 30k for his trade which was a few $100 more than he paid for it initially! He also got a sick deal on the 2nd 15'.
I got an EcoBoost because I had a plan on building a cool little sleeper car out of it. It didn't pan out. I wish I had bought another GT or even kept mine.

If you do a search on Auto Trader you will see about 10x more people are dumping their EB than GTs. I bet I would get even less now, because they are showing up all over the place used. When I went to trade it, there were none on lots to even get a comparative value.

Don't get caught up in the "have to have better" it'll never stop. Appreciate what you have while you have it. You have to find that happy medium where you are content with what you have but not miserable. If you can easily afford a GTPP why not? But then you're gonna see the GT350 and start dreaming of that car, from there its the GT350R and then the C7Z....Take your time and think about what you really want. I love the Gt350, its what swayed me to buy the GTPP. I am absolutely happy with it. The Coyote has been around for awhile and has been proven to be reliable. I can afford everything comfortably now and years down the road I can possibly do a conversion or get a 350 used if I can find one and afford it. Just try to sway away from an impulse decision as best you can.

Not necessarily an opinion on your situation: but I find it interesting that there are so many people on this forum that are willing to take a multi-thousand dollar hit on a car under a year old just for a bigger engine. Seems like people need to spend some more time figuring out what the really want before jumping into something.

Well honestly, I think a lot of the people trading were early adopters. I know I looked at the very early performance results that were coming out and that swayed my decision.

I have to agree with that. I knew after the multiple test drives that I liked this engine. Now with the tuning upgrades from Torrie, I love it even more.

Yes anything can be made fast.
You will be at supercharged 5.0 levels reliably on stock bottom end?

Not using stock bottom end.

Edit: I also wasn't claiming I would make the same power. Just that it would take a supercharged GT to keep up.

You're dealing with half the motor why would you leave a stock bottom end? If you're pointing at additional cost you need to consider additional buy in also. Regardless it's been shown both these motors can make power. It comes down to preference on what you want:ford:

Out of curiosity I checked my trade in.its a loaded Eco premium pp 7k mi
Was offered 27 sight unseen.I only owe 29 glad i negotiated a great deal:)might need to test drive a gt again just to make sure:shrug:
