You are just hearing about the good deals. There are way more deals being made with large ADM's. Trust me, it's extremely difficult finding an MSRP. I was willing to do a $5K ADM purchase, but got lucky with an MSRP. Equal parts persistency and luck.

I will add however, if everyone who is truly serious about getting a near MSRP or MSRP R, tell the dealers what more and more Forum members are purchasing R's at, this will eventually get the dealers to soften....eventually. I used to think a $10K ADM was good, till I heard a few people getting $5K ADM deals. MSRP is the new $5K ADM.

The closest R's to me are 2 states away and NOT at MSRP, haha. I was offered 50.5K for my Tech. I'll keep it for that price and do what I want to it.

For those that are wondering how I secured my deal. I used the Ford inventory website. It was my first wave. All the other dealers were $20-$40K over.

could you elaborate on this? did you just use ford.com and have dealers in your area contact you? i can't find where to have dealers from out of my state know i am looking for an R.

Do a radius search based on zip code and start calling down the list.

That's sticker. A "loaded" R will fetch just under $70K

I was offered $48,500 for my 2100 mile '16 Track Pack (has Suntek and Opti Coat Pro installed). This seems low to me. Am I better off trying to sell the car on my own?

Seems really low. I had a base 16 w/ track pack and something like 7k miles on it. I traded it in for a Porsche and they offered me about $48k but when all was said and done, I got almost $57k. You should be able to get a bit more.

Keep in mind ordering and receiving are 2 different things. Since Ford is now making 1000 17 R's as compared to 500 16 R's I'm sure people will get better deals. I just hope for people ordering at MSRP that no one offers the dealers more before they arrive. The dealer can sell to whomever they want. As long as they give back the deposit, there is little the perspective buyer can do.

To the OP, Congratulations! I think 48.5 is a bit low especially with low miles but I would not want to deal with tire kickers either. I'd let it go for 48.5 to the dealer if you get the R at MSRP.
