I haven't tried it on a GT, but on an EB I drove, Sport+ gave the throttle response I would expect for a performance car. I don't think you'll be disappointed with that on the base GT, nor will I.
That is somewhat refreshing. I guess, i will have to test drive a base in sport+ to see how it feels. As i have not placed order yet.

"...It's possible the base GT with PP in sport+ mode is the same as track mode and Ford simply doesn't want to reveal it..."

I was thinking along the same lines.

A guy that orders a GT with PP is specifically asking for and paying for whatever additions Ford can provide to give that GT an increased level of performance—to go faster/stop sooner/corner better than a regular non-GT—ALL THE TIME.
I don't think many guys who ordered a GT with PP would prefer to have a toggle switch or some other option that would essentially TURN OFF this extra level of performance that they've paid for. The option that would make sense would be if that "sport +" mode kicked up the performance a notch higher than usual.
On Order [July 15, 2014]:

2015 [300A—"base"] GT/Ingot Silver
6spd MT
Performance Package
Recaros
Reverse Sensing

I agree with Rican. If the car has the PP/Track Package it should have track mode. It's possible the base GT with PP in sport+ mode is the same as track mode and Ford simply doesn't want to reveal it. I'm sure it will be fine on the track, that'll I'll only go to once a year anyway.
Robb, I have been thinking about the drive modes since I placed my order on a Base GT with PP, silver btw!

There have been a few people on this forum that are indicating their dash lights up a "Sports+" icon with 2 quick clicks of the traction control button. It's promising and my opinion is, that's kind of cool it's a "hidden" feature but not so hidden really, there is a mention of it in the manual somewhere.

Maybe someone with a Base GT w/ PP, can make a 10 second video showing the 2 clicks and the "Sport+" icon light up. That should settle some of the mystery.

Who actually tracks their car after spending nearly 40g on it and the purpose of it is for their daily or pleasure? No one ever said you cant use track mode on the streets. I would say over 80% of those that are buying the new mustang is not for the purpose of tracking... maybe a couple fun events here n there but the majority is for their liesure or DD. there are those that just get it for bragging rights whether you know how to drive it or not
No but the whole point is, if you are specifically getting the Performance Package (aka new track package) IT SHOULD BE INCLUDED. No matter what trim you decide, you've already plunked the money down for that performance feature!

I think that's probably closer to 99%.

Figure Ford expects to sell about, what, 85,000 2015 Mustangs? I'd be shocked if more than 1,000 original owners ever take their car to a track or a drag strip.

I agree...[emoji1] I was just being conservative of the number so I said over 80% lol.... purpose of the pp on mine is for a European esque driving feel since I am coming over from an Audi... my guess is that it is spot on... I have not test driven yet... if I don't... will be my second car ordered not being test driven before buying. Going to try to make it to the mustang driving event here in DFW but it also looks like there is some snow in the forecast... last time they said we were gonna have a dusting of an inch turned to a getting dumped on...lol. think that was in 2011 in feb during superbowl... had such a blast driving in that snow with my truck

Wow, what a response to a simple question!!! Now if one the engineers from Ford would clarify. Is the base GT always in 'track' mode, balls to the wall kind of performance all the time?????

There is a possibility that the base mustang has an adaptive throttle response based on driving habits... you will get the performance you desire on that much like adaptive auto trans... my Audi had the adaptive throttle response on the mt

Hi Carguy,
Thanks for the post! Do you own the Base GT? What happens if you double tap the traction control button? Just 2 fast pushes of the button.

If 2 taps gets you sport mode, will 3 taps get you track mode?
