Thanks for such a comprehensive review. I'm going July 28th with my son as a non-driving guest. Did you stay at the Embassy Suits Hotel - they already have no vacancies and I haven't selected another option?
there are a ton of hotels 5 minutes up the road towards Concord Mills i85,
And the opposite direction up 19/41 towards University place there are also a ton of hotels

We're staying at Great Wolf Lodge right down the street. Figure it'll give the wife and kiddo something to do while I'm doing my own childish things at the track 🤣

Another advice:

I think its also a good idea to set goals and have a plan as far as what you want to achieve. For example, for the drag strip I will aim for progressively faster speeds before braking and stopping before the second cone. Another is to aim for smoother and faster shifts. For the handling slalom course, I would progressively speed up and aim to get the tires to squeal. For the skid course, I would again aim to progressively speed up each lap (I pretty much stayed at one speed). For the track, I would aim for the fastest straightaway (slow down to the 30’s to let the trailers pass then drop to second and let it fly! You only have a limited window before you catch up to the group and you’ll have to ease up. I would also aim to hit all the apex at faster speeds. While at the tail and you finally have a feel for the course, you can let the lead group move ahead a tad more and catch up gradually at a faster speed. The takeaway is to be mindful of building up your speed throughout the exercises as you gain confidence. My error was I settled on some of the runs. Continually challenge yourself throughout the day and attack, attack, attack!

One question: how long after you bought your car did you have to wait for the Track Attack package and ability to register?

Great account of your experience, thanks for making the time to write it up!
I bought mine June 6th, haven’t gotten the letter yet, but I called the number yesterday and registered no problem.

I bought mine in January. I don’t plan on flying out to North Carolina for this. I’ve got better things to spend my vacation on. I wish it were transferable to give to somebody else. But I don’t think it is.

I Was supposed to go last month.

I am still stuck on couch with broken ankle. in two weeks I will possibly find out if I will be able to walk again this year, and also if I'll be able to drive with my right foot any time soon. If so, I'll get to reschedule my track attack, maybe october/november.

I'm going to the two-day class late August. As far as I know, I'm the only one from the forum going on those dates. :(
I'm going August 23 - 25 also!
