Afternoon all, recently purchased a 2020 Mustang Bullitt and I’m thrilled with it however I took it out today and it felt unusually flat at the top end, 5500rpm+
Like it would build power and torque normally until 5500 then just plateau instead of building.

just wondered if anyone could give some advice before taking it to a garage.

cheers.

19500 and a H pipe, I’m thinking potentially some dodgy Tesco Momentum as that’s roughly when it started

have you managed to burn off that fuel and get some fresh stuff in there? Any error codes, using a proper scanner / Forscan ? It should scream like a madman after 5500rpm :)

How do the spark plugs look? Is the check engine light on? Does it feel like that in gears 1-3 too, or does it only occur in 5th-6th gear?

I was just wondering if you’re spinning the engine all the way to near redline when feeling the car nose over, or if you’re just shifting much earlier than necessary and sorta lugging the engine?

I was only really able to feel it in 1st and 2nd due to the gearing. I’ll book in an appointment with a garage and update, cheers for trying to help.

No worries my friend. Something else that I forgot to ask was, did you disable traction control before making those high rpm pulls? Maybe TC kicked in and pulled power like it’s supposed to if it detected a traction issue. Poor or slick road surfaces can cause a loss of traction very easily. Try it again with TC off and see if that makes a difference.

yeah it should be like a missile in 1st and 2nd, mine (MY17 GT long story of putting fixing it off) is the other way and feels flat low down until about 4.5krpm then it kicks off but you've got the higher HP engine as well should aye should be bat out of hell top end in bottom gears.
