Is there any way to save brightness/backlight/contrast settings?

Im sure theres an ini file somewhere with default values. If we can identify the file we can customize the values to our preference.

Doesn't Waze get it's data from having a network connection? or is via the GPS?

I believe it's a hybrid solution of both network and GPS. The network provides all the 'cool' stuff like traffic alerts and positional data on fellow Wazers, while GPS feeds the map picture. I'm interested to see what sulside is working on.

What about a wifi dongle? like the ones you used on desktop computers to get a wifi network, then you can run a hot spot on your phone.

The problem is getting the drivers and settings correct in wince there are none

I just installed the tomtop unit and realized that i have no sound coming from the front passenger side tweeter and door speaker, has anyone had a similar problem?
BTW i have already removed the speaker and made sure it works
