Does anyone have Base 2016 with Sync 3?

Wondering why Car play would not work on this unit. Is there another peace of hardware that would be needed? Isn't Apple/Android Car play sent from your phone and takes over the Sync? Confused.

If you have sync 3 why would you have this unit it's a downgrade
And it's based off of mft for use with sync 2

dude, base model GT have sync 3 with app link in them without the 8 inch navigation. All 2016 have sync 3.

I wish this was true, but sadly it is not. Base model GTs do not have Sync 3. They have Sync, but it is not Sync 3. Totally different hardware iirc.

You're either smoking crack, misinformed or you were lied to. Only 2016 Premium models have Sync3. I have a 2016 GT base and upgraded the screen with the Moddiction/Sintegrate unit. No Sync3 module, just Sync.

Agreed. It kinda has an app link but it's limited and quite shitty and not nearly as capable as the legit sync 3. The Tomtop unit is built to mimic (quite badly I may add) the sync 2 MFT system using the base sync 2 system as a base program with a Windows ce 6.0 overlay with a separate "computer" to run the navigation and AV inputs "the reason you can't hack the sync system it's self". If you had sync 3 it would be a mistake and waste of money to buy this or any other unit out on the market right now "as they are built only for sync 2"

Yep, you don't need to update anything to get the "one connected" fixed.

Just follow the video in the early posts and you should be good.
