Does anyone else have the issue that when the navigation talks it's just static

Yes. Reset your unit.
Press the I on home screen then reset. Worked for me.

i installed the tomtop unit in my car , its april,11 2016 build, gps works but voices quit, they worked for the first day but were crackling and all of a sudden its a nogo on voice but still pauses for one, i've played with master volume in the settings and also in the map it self

It's not that easy. Which problems do you have? If you have the time/degrees C issue, that's one update (and it will fix the time and change to degrees F but the date will still be fucked). If yours is a newer unit, this update will likely cause problems.

There's the "one Connected" issue, which Ranger11x fixed and posted.

Then there's the navi update. I wrote a thread about it here:

and it looks like the file is still active.


Don't just go about updating stuff willy-nilly. If I know what you're missing (which is to say, what version of the unit you have) I can maybe help out.

Ahhhh! Everything is in Chinese for me. Amazon seller gave me the update code of 1234560204.. DON'T DO IT. It's like it reverted itself from all updates and threw it way back to v 1.0 or something. It sucks! I can't find a fix, and I've tried copying the lang_en.xml and whatnot. Any ideas of what to do?

did you try contacting the seller again? I don't see how you can do an update just using a pass code it would also require an update file.

I did try contacting them. They gave me that code and told me to put it in the System Update option to change my language to English completely, because I inquired about the Chinese mute button, and the Phone Connected being cut off.

It changed it ALL to Chinese.. very frustrating.

I am now communicating with Amazon to see what my options are. It's going to be hell if I have to take everything apart again. I should've just saved more and opted for the Moddiction unit or the Raxiom unit.

EDIT: By the way, what enticed me the most about the unit I purchased (KKmoon or Docooler) was the price point of $300.00. I'm not worried about HDMI or anything too fancy. I just wanted a customized navigation program.



EDIT 2: I'VE GOT THE CODE TO CHANGE IT BACK TO ENGLISH! They were sending me on a wild goose chase. Very frustrating to be without a head unit that's not in English for nearly 3 weeks!
