You may. My last new car had one of these, and it was a PAIN. It was "disabled" and I never had a problem with it until I pulled the cable to install HID's a few weeks after I bought the car and couldn't figure out why my car wouldn't start, and then remembered the little security box. I called the dealer I bought the car from and one of the techs walked me through how to completely disabled it over the phone and I never had a problem again even after disconnecting the battery to do things countless times after. My understanding is they work (at least the one I had) by simply just cutting power.My dealer install one of those security box on my mustang to track my car incase it was stolen. I wonder if i will have the same problem later on if i remove the negative cable
