Tomtop unit black and grey screen

I have had a tomtop unit since March and installation and after was fine until last week. The unit will only display a black and grey flickering screen now and the same morning the unit was working fine. I tried doing a battery disconnect for about a minute and nothing, also none of the related radio, head unit, amp fuses are bad either. Has anyone had any similar experience and have any ideas on a solution or fix? I am planning on pulling the head unit out to check connections but I'm not sure this will yield any results. Help please...I'm fresh out of ideas.:shrug::frusty:

hi all , just got mine installed and i have this issue with back up camera , any ideas ? maybe some wiring problems ? if so any idea which one and if so with which other i should change it

p.s : can someone put a detailed photo of their working wire cluster at each connection ? im sure thats gonna help a lot of us thanks a lot the 2 large black ones , the small black and the white one

Hello, I am located in France (in Normandy) and I have a problem with this unit on y 2015 Mustang

I tried to change the language and when I went on the system update menu the unit turned into Chinese and now impossible to go back in English (or better French).

I need help lol

My navigation stopped working, It turns on even when I turn it off, blue-tooth phone calls don't work if I am on the call before starting the car, etc. It is complete garbage what can you say so I am glad it wasn't over the $168 I paid for it. I won't even bother trying to fix mine.

those are the only things you need to buy unless you don't have AV cables lying around the house like I did (red white yellow av cables like for an older tv). I installed the tomtop Via the write up in another post, but I attatched the Yellow av video cable to the DTV cable on the tom top harness and the white and red av cable into the tom top harness as well. I then ran the three AV cables and the tomtop harness USB wire with the usb splitter cord under the center console all the way to the back of the console (console removal is also outlined in another thread). I then hooked up the hdmi to av converter to the cables that i ran and used a small 1 ft HDMI cord to hook the iphone digital Lightning av converter and a regular lightning cable to the USB splitter that is attatched to the tomtop usb cord then hooked up the HDMI to av converter (it has a power cable included in its box) and the lightning cable into the Lightning av converter. at this point you should have screen mirroring enabled once you hook the Lightning av converter into your phone! I went a step further and drilled a small hole into the bottom of the center console under the arm rest to run the lighting cable extention and hide all the other wiring so only one lighting cable shows from the bottom. if there are any questions or if this isnt clear please let me know

So I hooked it all up and no sound plays through. I double checked all the wires and they’re hooked up correctly. Is there not supposed to be sound?

Radio worked only a month, i buyed this on aliexpress from official seller KKMOON, now radio won't start, no bluetooth, any noise from speakers, only reverse camera works, so i think windowsce dont work, i do nothink with software. The seller tell me "
You can check it at your local repair shop." and i think, they don't want help me with this situation ;-(

This is why I've been very reluctant to buy one of these. There's little to no support for them, and the sellers are basically just middlemen who sell them out of China. Only recourse you have is buy one off Amazon, then return it if you have a problem. Troubleshooting these, with exception to checking connections is all but zero. I hate to say this, but since the back up camera works, then I think there is a MAIN connection for the radio separate from that. It may just be loose. Only way to check, is take it apart and see if it's loose. Some guys use Hot Glue guns to get those wide connectors to stay in place more securely.

If it's not the main connector, then it may just be a dead unit. If you can't get it to work, pull it and send it back for a replacement or refund.

That's a blown fuse. Likely caused by some other fault or short within the unit. So simply replacing the fuse may not fix it. Check the resistance from each of the solder pads at F3 to ground. If there is no short then you could try replacing the fuse with a new one. I would guess it is a 5A fuse by the marking. Possibly a 1206 package but check by measuring the physical size.

But this crap wont start, and red diode flashing all the time. I dont know what I must do with this I think it's a crap right now. Of course aliexpress seller dont want help me.
