TOMTOP 8" Touchscreen Upgrade: Post-Install Issues & Help Thread

Pull out your unit...lmao....
Pull the radio out and look at the Tomtop harness. It should be self explanatory once your are looking at it. They also are labled. The 2 that should be connected are separate from all the other loose extra wires. Like I said it should have been preconnected when you received it...but it could have gotten unplugged some how.

If it's not a setting issue, Id say check the rca for the backup camera behind the radio.

Fantastic! If I'm not mistaken, my labels were strictly in Chinese :doh: lol

Regardless, thank you guys so much for the help! I'll be sure to revisit the wiring this weekend!

i didnt use any of the rca cables, there is just a small factory plug that you forgot to plug into the back of the tom top.

I checked the connections (November 2015 TomTop edition on 2016 V6) and everything was installed properly.

The speakers are fine during all modes except when the navigation gives prompts. Anyone else experience this?

Otherwise, this stereo upgrade has been fantastic!

The crackle could be because you have the volume in the settings set to high.
The volume I'm referring to is in the system settings not in the Navi settings.
So confusing trying to explain this...in the radio/system settings there is a area for Navigation settings. in that menu there is a volume setting. When I turned that all the way up it caused a crackle on mine.

New unit

Hey guys, I got a new unit installed 2 days ago, it's not the one from Tomtop tbh I don't know who the manufacturer is, got it from the local market in UAE, Dubai

I really like it and it doesn't have the clock bug and u can change the temp format between C & F.

I'll post a video later on tonight.

It has one issue though: the temp seems to be incorrect, any ideas why?

So everything in the unit works really well,


I like that it looks like the OEM Sync.
I can control the AC from the screen as well!

Problems:
1. I can't figure out why my temp is incorrect, it was accurate on the old 4" screen.
2. I can't find a way to adjust the brightness of the screen (I don't really care).

Got it for around $550 with the installation.
