So today, since my wheels will be in next week, I decided to go ahead and paint the calipers. After that was done....well, we had some more time on our hands. I ps'd what I originally wanted my engine bay to look like and today I just pulled the trigger with some other car enthusiasts. Purchased "grabber green" high temp engine enamel and black enamel and started to paint away. 5 coats each, 15 min intervals and it was good to go. Tell me what you guys think.

I'll let you guys know how everything holds up as the months go by...but I've used this stuff under the hood before and it never failed me.

Personally, this cost me about 15 dollars to do....compared to the 300+ shops were trying to charge me.

I really like it, looks great! Did you put any sort of clear coat over the green? I wonder if they sell that in orange... :)

That looks great, all of it! I normally don't like stuff like this but I'm impressed.

Thank you guys! Yea my color scheme will be all black everything with the exception of the calipers and the dot in the badge, and of course the engine bay.

No, there is no clear coat afterwards...at least yet. Everything just pops so there was no need. But I am going to look at it a week from today and then decide if I am going to clear coat it.

Most people do performance stuff first, but this one is going to be a show car for the first couple years. Hoping this kind of stuff can help me win some shows

Looks good. While I was waiting for my car to get here, I bought a spare set of coil covers and, being something of a purest, painted them Ford Corporate Blue, like they used on the engines in yesteryear. Now that the car is here, I can finally see what they look like on the car.

Looks like it looks good from about 10 feet away. Up close you can see the imperfections. But not bad for a home job!

To each there own but if I have a brand new car Im not painting things with spray paint. I can see how they look from 5ft away theres black on the green the paint is peely like crazy. For me Id rather have it professionally done or leave it raw plastic.
