Hey one last question what type of tire were you running in the back?
They were Mickey Thompson ET Street SS 305/45/17. Great tire for that power level. You have to be more a little more cautious with them than street tires in the rain though. I've always tried to stay 45mph and under whenever I got caught in the rain with them and it was fine, never felt the car shift or anything crazy.

Well wheels have been ordered. Went with the Weld RT-S S80, 20x8 in front and 17x10 in rear. Cant wait to see what it looks like and also how it performs.

Ok staggered Or drag wheels, is that better?
I have a 2015 with the PP, so 19 x 275 in the back, and I don't think that PS4S start gripping until they are 95 degrees plus. I am going to Sport Cup 2s or Goodyear Supercup/car next. Maybe some MTs.

Yeah i decided to bit the bullet and went with the 305/45/17 MT Street R's on a 17x10, so hopefully with more sidewall and less air pressure i should be able to keep it from skating around too bad. We will see, have to wait for the Welds to arrive first.

I have a similar set up, Weld S71 18x5 fronts & 17x10 rears. Weekend car. Would love to hear an update on how the street Rs perform in the rain. I’m currently running the Street SS 305/45/17 but trying to hook on the street with a Gen 5 Whipple at 20psi has me strongly considering the R’s.

I went with 20x8's up front as I wanted more of the street look so we will see how it turns out. I would love to be able to share how they react in the rain but i hope to never get caught in the rain, especially since the top has not been up in my car in months, only out of garage on good days. :) I for sure will let you know how they hook on the street though, hoping i don't have any issues.

Awesome man! And a very nice wheel setup. I think you'll love how much more confident you can be with the car at any time with it.

What spoiler is that on your car?

Post some pics when you get em on. I have a dedicated set of wheels for the strip, but it does get old swapping back and forth, so I think for your situation that's definitely the way to go. Once I get done with chasing numbers N/A and add boost I may do the same thing. I'm thinking about going with some high end forged 18" all the way around though, with a 325 M&H drag radial on the rear.

Will do for sure, I already have the tires, just waiting on the wheels. Should arrive by the end of the month. Fingers crossed.

Wider tires will not help. The only thing that will help is a much more sticky tire. Over 800RW only the best will do. I run super tall MT ET Street R's (315/50/17) so mine hooks at that power level. My R2 tires were screaming for mercy at only 10# boost on E85, now running 17# on E85 the street R's are still holding.

315/50/17's are much better, but require spring spacers with drag springs.

Do you know if the 315/50/17 fit with stock rear springs?
It will be close. I'm lowered 1/2", and used 3/8 spacers.
