I need helping choosing a tire. My 16 GT PP is a daily driver. I want an aggressive tire with improved traction and handling. I've always hated the stock tires. I was looking at the Nitto 555 G2 but I'm seeing mixed reviews. I don't really want to change my PP wheels quite yet. How big should I go on the rears? Any help is greatly appreciated. Not much track time for me. Just a lot of spirited daily driving. Although I would like to take it to the track one day.

PP wheels are 19x9" I believe. So, 275/40/19's will help your gear and as to brand= budget? If $200 a tire is ok Continential has a new tire just out that is as good as Michelin Pilot SS if not, do the BF Goodrich sport comp 2's. Here's the new Nitto's on my buds GT 500.

Depends on your budget and how much you really want out of your tire. On the low end with very good performance, I'd say Firestone Firehawk Indy 500. A step up Continental ExtremeContact Sport and better yet, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. those step up in both price and performance. Personally, I'm going with the Firestones.

Same here. I've read nothing but rave reviews about them and you can get them for $165 - $200 a tire depending on what size you go with. TireRack has good pricing. But, Firestone Complete Auto Care's prices are really close and if you have one local you won't have to pay shipping.

I was the first guy on here to do a review on the Firestones if I remember correctly, and I'd still recommend them. Great tire and price. Don't confuse these with the discontinued Wide Oval's, these are better.

I've noticed a lot of dealerships near me carry these now for the same price as tirerack but without the shipping cost, might be worth looking into.

Factory gt pp wheels are

Front 19x9
Rear 19x9.5

Now if you want a better grippier tire the firestone Indy 500 is an awesome bang for the buck and the nt555g2 is great as well

I have bfg sport comp 2 summer tires on mine and I'm very happy. Rain didn't phase them and traction is great, unless it's under 60°. They're very budget friendly. I'm running 285/35r19 and it fits perfectly.

Looking at the nt555rs. The rear PP wheels are 9.5 so I probably wouldn't go wider than a 285 tire. There are people who have fitted 295s on them, not sure how that worked out for them though.

I really like my G2's, they arent drag radials so dont expect them to grip like them, but they offer decent grip for what they are, they ride nice, theyre quiet, and the price is affordable

How much tire do you want? Conti ECS, MPSS/MP4S tires are great daily drivers that can do ok at harder use, but they arent the most "aggressive".

RE71R are Aggressive. Stiff, significantly grippier and more responsive than the MPSS, you'll get twice the smiles and half the treadlife.
