Really hard to see, but I got a magic rock that cut through the tread into the cord. I’m guessing I need to replace it now (only 4k miles, bummer).
Am I over-reacting? Is this ok because it’s not the sidewall and isn’t losing air?

Agreed with the ^

If you move at high speed then I would be replacing that tire with two new ones for that end.

Can you see cord in there?

If its not leaking, I'd guess its ok, but keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't start to bulge or anything.

Yes, I can see the cord. It’s actually severed.
