Hey all, I have a 17 mustang gt pp1 I'm looking to get a wheel and tire setup next spring, Im going with 19x10 and 19x11, I'm considering a square setup with 305/30/19 all 4 corners but wondering if you guy think I should do a 285 or 295 upfront i only track the car about twice a year. Other than that its a street/weekend car,

will running a 305 vs 295 per say hurt my straight line time when doing highway pulls? and my other question is the wheel gap is going to be pretty bad... what type of lowering springs should I get to fix the gap it'll be the same gap as the pp2 cars..

Why a square tire setup with a staggered rim setup? 305s are a little much for a 10" wheel on the front IMO. You will lose some handling and gain nothing.

Usually the first purpose of a square setup (same wheel on all 4) is to be rotational, then the second is for handling purposes (fixing understeer/oversteer which I have no experience with since I do not roadcourse) and involves having the wheel width and tire width matched up perfectly.

So yes, I would go with a 285 front, 305 rear or etc. Make sure to check your tire sizes with a wheel calculator such as willtheyfit or use one of the experienced forum vendors.

I'm running a square set up; 19x10's and 285/35r19 summer tires. Personally I think it's perfect. It provides more than enough grip, handling is excellent, and as a bonus I can rotate tires.
