Euro/Aussie cars apparently don't have an "always-on" fuse, which by memory is Fuse 2 on the interior.

So the only way to get the Parking/Surveillance mode active on the camera (after the ignition is off) is to hardwire directly.

Any tips on getting my Thinkware dashcam wire from the interior to the engine bay fusebox? It's more or less similar on the interior, apart from RHD/LHD of course.

For instance, my fusebox is on the drivers side (instead of the passenger on LHD).

There should be a grommet or something on the firewall that you can fish a wire through. Look up behind your clutch pedal in the upper portion of the firewall.

Is that the sound tube one? I suppose that would be the "passenger side" for RHD.

I think getting to the sound tube is going to be fun. K brace on top of it and all lol

Will give it a try. Thanks

If you watch some of CJ Pony parts install videos they point out some of the ways to feed wires, I want to say the airlift suspension video shows a spot to feed them through.

How have you mamaged it? I want to lead a cable from the cabin to the engine bay as well. Any photos would help me.

My 2017 UK RHD GT does have an always on fuse. I use one with my power magic pro. Have you tested 2 and found that it doesn't work? Mine is tapped into 2 and 23 for live and switched respectively.

You have two choices (one in either fender well). Remove the pins holding the fender well lining and you’ll see a large oval rubber plug in the firewall with wiring harnesses passing through them. On each of those rubber plugs, is a single nipple. Take a razor blade and male a slit on the nipple or cut it completely off if you have several wires to feed through. Fish the wire through using a straight section of a coat hanger With the wire taped to it.

So the only way is to lead the wire under one of these fenders, right? Is it possible to do it without lifting the car and removing the wheel? I have found this useful video

I use the grommet next to brake booster on firewall for my aftermarket line-lock wires.

@mellda here is a better example of how I passes wires from the passenger side fender well into the cabin. You can probably get away with removing the liner and turning the wheel, but removing the wheel and liner would allow you to work more comfortably.
