Yep. I haven’t tried em all, but many.

Some stuff didn’t pan out and it just sits in the cabinet.

I had the same setup as you , new for 25 years with no issues thank goodness, now I have the one center spring , replaced new with the door 3 years before we moved in 2017 . The door man was out last spring and tuned up everything, he said you get about 100,000 cycles out of a spring , a cycle in 1 open/ close , I'm +/- 3 cycles a week . I did put chicken wire around the spring, to slow the explosion down if it happens. My door opener is old and is a few years or if it dies before I'll be proactive and have the spring replaced. They pack a lot of energy.
Having the room KB does is sure nice, when we moved to Az 5 plus yrs ago,I'm down to a small double car G , but I make it work .
I'm a Griots guy ( lived 45 minutes from there Tacoma Washington home) but opted for Adams kit and clay bar use the Griots Correcting cream and evaluate the finish from there , before Ceramic coat .

you don t have to worry about those center springs because they have a bar thru the center. When they break they don t go anywhere. The springs that stretch down on both sides have nothing to keep them from shooting in any direction they want unless you run a safety cable down thru the center. Chicken wire and staples won t slow down a tensioned explosion of a spring even if it was possible. your safe!

Same, I have tons of stuff, I love to tinker and try different things. Sometimes you get a dud, and it sits forever. I have a few of those products, I think we all do :)

I hope y'all had memorable, healthy, and safe Christmas experiences, I spent the day in the garage. <laughing> That said, it took me until the day after to finally finish this nut cracker project and since I started it on the 13th, that's two dang weeks! But, I'm getting pretty long in the tooth so it takes me longer to do most things. <grin> I used Sonax Perfect Finish with both fine and ultra fine Rupes foam pads and I have to say, I don't think the clear coat could be any smoother and more glossy. It was a helluva lot of work but now that it's behind me, I am very glad I gave her a second polishing.

Related Note: In the thread, "One product for someone who's not obsessive," I want to second @FiveOBoy's comment that gloss and clarity are not a function of what is applied TO a clear coat, they are absolutely directly related to the quality of the polishing effort. My car's clear coat was very glossy with crystal clear reflections before I started this second effort but I can say without hesitation that my girl's clear coat is now absolutely glossier and the reflections are stunning.

ADS Report: Without a doubt, the Pro Ceramic was no more difficult than my previous experience with CP CQuartz on the Mustang and the wife's Caddy. Wipe on, wipe off and the 30ml was more than enough to do the car and the wheels with probably 10ml left over (but geeze, cleaning and coating those wheels was a real ball buster. Only time will tell on the longevity of the coating but she's slicker 'n snot now and will undoubtedly be a breeze to wash.

I also picked up their Trim Coating and again, I was thoroughly impressed. Same as above, it was a no brainer to apply and it really made the black vinyl parts look spectacular, deepening the black and making them super slick and glossy. Also highly-recommended. Had more than half a bottle left over too.

The final ADS product used for the first time was Ghost and as much as I like OG's tire dressing, I think Ghost tops it. Very impressed and I'm betting it will hold up longer as well.

Well done.

(To add to/expound on what I had said before. It is my opinion that a coating will darken the paint and add gloss, but the amount of each is small/negligible. Not zero though… Most of it is from the polish job. But if you combine the two, and the correction was good…. You get results like this.)

I have one of those too. He’s annoying. Always checking my work.
Yep, my big boy Buddy loves to hang out in the garage, at least when it's not 100 daiquiris FiveO..Alex said the same thing. Boys/men and their canine sidekicks..the world may go to hell in a hand basket but that love and camaraderie will never change.

We adopted another Dobie rescue last February and his name is Drogon. But, he's a youngster and very curious while Buddy says he's been there, done that, and seen the vid. <grin> While Buddy was relaxing on the pad in the garage, Drogon was hunting for lizards and ghekos around the the small air conditioning unit.

I took em both for individual walks earlier..they're both very strong pups and walking them both at the same time would probably be too much. Plus, there's always the chance that another untethered pup will show up and I've broken up more dog fights than I care to remember so I take 'em solo and carry a billy club. <grin>

Humped it yesterday doing Poop Patrol in the back lawn, trimmed, edged, and mowed the 1.5 acres which took just shy of four hours. Fortunately the weather was pleasant. Today is pool duties and when those are complete, I plan to take the uber clean Mustang out for some country drivin'. Cold front rolling in tonight which will take the temp from 82 or so to a balmy 56! That is really chilly for us southern wimps. <smile>

BTW @FiveOBoy, you of course were correct that the spray toppers do increase the color saturation and slickness but crystal clear reflections are only the byproduct of a proper polishing. Doing both, as you said, brings out the best of both worlds.

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone.

Love that shot 50B, and I see the manager actually has a BED in the garage! <smile> We have four beds in the house but only the rubber pads in the garage..your manager is definitely spoiled. ;=)

I sure wish we had attendance like that at our monthly CnC.

I feel like the only actual way to improve some of these cars is to spend this kind of time with polish and coating. Looks great - I have the urge to take mine down and recoat with some ADS as well. Will also have to look into the trim coating instead of reload.

PS - ghost is awesome but make sure you clean out the brush/sponge after every use

Luckily I do that after use, Cam but I just went out to check. I use the little CarPro DarkSide brush on the Mustang and sure enough, I felt some stiffness around the edge in one place that I obviously didn't clean and rinse well enough. Thumbed it a bit and the bristles came back..thanks for the tip.

With this idea in mind, have you noticed an increase in longevity with Ghost?

Drove out to the base auto hobby shop yesterday to change the oil. Had our first cold snap of the year with some mighty stiff winds so the place was nearly deserted. As it turned out, it was only three days short of a year since I'd been there for the last oil change which explains why the car had been nagging at me for an oil change.

Filter was fairly dirty but the oil looked almost new coming out of the pan. Once again, I cussed that damn filter cannister but the 3D printed rig from @pilotgore minimized the mess. (Thanks again, my friend.)

BTW, the young man running the hobby shop must have been still been in the Christmas spirit because he gave me a wink and a nod and didn't charge me the ten bones for the lift. <grin>

1767092773164-ja.webp

When I got home, I entered the mileage into the Excel worksheet and saw that I had only put 585 miles on her since the oil change last year and this recent oil change was her ninth since delivery in February of 2020. Current mileage is 5648. Nine oil and filter changes is definitely overkill but it gives me peace of mind. :=) Plus, I have so many FL2087's and multiple cases of oil, I figured I may as well use 'em.

Ghost, on a properly prepped tire, lasts for a LONG time. And if it does get dirty, just a quick clean with just soap and it is still there :)
