Thank you! I'll likely go with one of those choices. My car has Nokian now and I really like them but they aren't made anymore...Interrestingly, I had that exact tire in that size on my Fusion. I didn't like them at all. I've only run Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 and Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus and like both of those much better.
I'm curious how the AS4 sidewalls handle the hits. I've been avoiding Michelin since my last set had fragile sidewalls had to replace two tires on potholes my Pirellis would just smash with no issues.I went with the Michelin AS4s and they are great all around tires! I bought a set of winter use wheels and Toyos, a mistake. In the wet I could spin them in third at 45-55mph which was crazy, my car is stock. Those are stored for an emergency use only.
Having said that about the AS4s, my fronts are perfect condition at 22k but the rears are down to the wear indicators. I know what you are thinking but wife and I don't spin the expensive rubber.
I am looking for a good tire that will hold up better on the back now. its wearing them very evenly so I doubt that it is an alignment issue. It is just the nature of the beast, apparently.
That is a good question, the roads around here are either very good condition or third world country rated. Its like they don't even get a new road fully replaced or widened before parts of it are shot. My sidewalls have seen some godawful road construction potholes and held up. I drive around Indiana sometimes and I don't understand how in some areas they can even call them ROADS. Anyway...mine have held up great with no flats other than an occasional small puncture.I'm curious how the AS4 sidewalls handle the hits. I run those on my stock rims for my all seasons when I have the summer tires off. I have been very impressed with them. They are very good tires. They are directional so pay attention to what way they are mounted and which side you put them on; and when rotating go front/back and don't swap sides. What do you guys think about 235/40 zr18 bf Goodrich GeForce comp 2 tires for street?
