Ticking noise from steering wheel?

Anyone else’s steering wheel make this noise when you turn it? I’ve looked it up but keep seeing threads about turning the wheel and a noise coming from under the car, this ticking is 100% coming from the interior. Is this normal? If not, what’s causing it?

I bought the car new and it now has 2300 miles on it, it’s been making the noise since day one. Didn’t think much of it when I picked it up but I’ve been starting to feel that somethings not right with it.

A few things I forgot to mention:

The wheel isn’t loose at all

My turn signal stock functions perfectly fine

The steering feels completely fine

Drive modes don’t affect the noise

Temperature doesn’t affect the noise

I haven’t taken it to the dealership because if it’s normal or a simple fix I’d rather not go through the hassle of dealing with them. If it turns out to be a complicated issue I’ll take it in

I would remove the airbag (disconnect battery first) so you can observe what happens when you turn the steering wheel - it might have bind somewhere in the slip ring (or whatever Ford calls it).

I have seen this many times on Hyundai Sonata’s.. the issue was a $2.00 plastic fleixbile coupler... about a 2 hour repair.

I am guessing something very similar is your culprit.

I would take it to the dealer should be a simple fix for them.
