I had to remove the dash trim, the center trim piece where the cup holders and shifter are, and then the radio trim bezel. It takes some time but it’s not too complex and only needs basic tools.
Took me a while but I ended up figuring mine out. It was this black plastic piece surrounding the disk slot behind the radio panel, the part circled in red. I ended up putting a couple pieces of dynamat between the plastic piece and the metal it sits on and it has been silent ever since.
Actually the issue was that I’m much less intelligent than I’d like to think
I had just emptied my UPR catch can, and to do that I have to unplug this little harness on the A/C line, which I forgot to plug back in.
Reconnected the harness and the A/C works as normal now.
Seems like the A/C in my 2018 GT350 just went belly up with 9,200 miles on it. I bought the car from Westway in Irving, but haven’t needed any significant service other than oil changes. What dealership do y’all recommend I have the A/C fixed at?
This past weekend I got under the car and shifted the crossmember over a hair as well as added Dynamat to the Transmission-engine plate. Rattle is now 90% gone, only a very faint trace of it on hard acceleration.
Planning on pulling the center console and adding Dynamat to the shifter itself...
That makes sense, because I made sure to mark it and install it in the exact original position, but the shifter assembly isn’t centered in the tunnel hole. It sits just a hair away from the edge of the opening closest to the driver. So I’ll definitely try adjusting the brace to move the assembly...
Well that makes the second person to mention that bracket as a point of concern. I’ll pull the boot off and see which side my shifter is closer to (I do remember it being very close to one side as well) and try to position the bracket further the other direction.
Thank you all so much for the recommendations. I’m probably going to go ahead and try all of these this week/weekend and see what happens.
Is the crossmember you’re mentioning that main support bracket on the bottom of the transmission?
Just to add, I am sure that it's coming from somewhere in/around the shifter assembly. I've tried removing the entire center console assembly, all of the surrounding bits from the shifter (rubber dust boot, fabric sound deadening, etc.), and the shift knob itself, and drove around and the noise...
Yes I double checked the transmission brace but I may try rebolting it in place just to be sure. I used the supplied materials for the sound deadening but I might try adding more dynamat to the underside of the center console to see if that quiets it down.
It is fairly loud, maybe it’s the...
So I’ve got a rattling/buzzing coming from the shifter assembly that is similar to what I’ve seen posted here numerous times. My issue is that the fix I keep seeing is to get an MGW shifter, but I already have one installed. I notice it only when I’m on the throttle at higher loads. Anyone else...
So I've got a really annoying rattling/buzzing coming from somewhere around the shifter, center console, or infotainment panel. I've searched around and done all the fixes I could find on here and still can't isolate the source. I already installed an MGW shifter so I know it isn't coming from...
Might need to dig up my window sticker. I remember it being $6X,610 MSRP. Maybe it was $62,610? Originally they wanted something along the lines $2.5k over sticker, but I’m not 100% sure. I was focused on $58,000 as my goal since it’s what I could pay and still be comfortably within my budget...
If you work the dealerships enough you can get a good price, especially with new 2018’s still on the lot. I got mine this past Halloween, buying towards/at the end of the month really helps.
If you have a car locally that you’re interested in, just find another one with a similar MSRP but...
