I have read ALOT of opinions on here about breather kits. I have run them on many different performance cars since the 80's. Most here are saying the passenger side is where the breathers or cans should collect the most oil. Well here are 2 pictures of mine. The passenger side is dry to the touch with no residue getting on your finger. The driverside is wet to the touch and will get residue on your finger. These have been on for 3,000+ miles. So I ask for your thoughts & opinions.

The catch can goes on the passenger side because that is the flow of crankcase gasses when the intake is sucking them out. The driver side is just a fresh air line from the intake tube to balance the air flow pressure/levels.

When you put breathers on it becomes a passive pressure release rather than active suction ("positive" crankcase ventilation, PCV) so where the pressure escapes becomes equal on both sides, in theory.

I have the $160 breather setup from JDM (I think?) and went back to stock for street driving as the smell was too overwhelming with the AC on outside air.

You really don't need them unless you are FI.

I assumed the crankcase ventilation would be equal with the breather kit but obviously that is not the case. Thanks for your reply.

The pressure is equal when vented as such, the reason you see more oil on one side is simply because the other side has the pcv valve under it where as the other side does not.
