Sup guys, I’m having a hard time debating which exhaust to go with. I want something a little different, deep and not too loud. I’ve owned a bunch of new edges and an s197 pretty much all with no cats and loud mufflers. At this point I don’t want a loud car and I live in an apartment so I don’t want it too loud.

Anyway, I’ve owned 3 s550 gt’s. The first one had a bassani catback, which isn’t made anymore, but it sounded unique and wasn’t real loud. The second one had a ford racing quad tip exhaust of some sort. It sounded great and wasn’t loud but in the time I owned it I never looked into which mufflers it had. I’m guessing it was the borla touring as it wasn’t real loud. Now, I recently picked up a 2015 gt with a corsa catback. Don’t get me wrong it sounds great but I’m looking for something a little quieter and deeper.

So far I like the Pypes h box catback. It’s not too loud and has a deep rumble. And the other one I like is the MBRP street catback. They sound like borlas but might be a little bit louder than I want.

In addition to those, I’m curious if anyone is running an Acceletec resonator with muffler deletes or Magnaflo’s version. I like that they are a little different but I can’t seem to find much on either one. Any input would be appreciated.

The Bullitt sounds a lot deeper then a normal GT. Might be what you're after?

That does sound pretty good. I’d say that’s pretty close to the sound I’m looking for, maybe a bit more growl.

Hey this is Junior from Need4speed Motorsports. Which Corsa catback do you have? There are two, Corsa Sport and Corsa Extreme. Something to look into is corsa offers 3 inch resonators you can add to the catback. Maybe that will help. Corsa is one of the only companies that truly doesn't have drone. I had had many different exhaust companies on my car.

I don’t know which one, I’d there a part number on the mufflers? I couldn’t find one. I agree they don’t drone and I like the catback but it’s a little loud for my taste and I didn’t want to cut the exhaust, hence the question about catbacks. Do you guys offer a resonator that can be bolted in place of the x section?

There's no part number on the mufflers, the way to tell which mufflers you have is by shining a light inside of them from the exhaust tip side. If the muffler is just a straight through pipe that is the Extreme Catback. If the pipe has alot of holes like a resonator does that is the Sport catback.
Regarding the Corsa resonators they are clamp on, no welding is needed.

I looked inside the muffler and it’s just a straight pipe no perforations. I got I have an extreme catback then.

Ok yes those are the Sport mufflers (Extreme Catback). Swapping to the Corsa Touring mufflers would be what you would want (Corsa Sport Catback).

AWE Touring if you don’t want loud. Lots of good YouTube videos out there that will give you a good idea on tone. AWE uses an h pipe instead of an x pipe, so it’ll be a little deeper at idle and low rpm.

I was in the same boat and originally I went with a MBRP street with a H-pipe.

After a while I broke the muffler part so I swapped it out for a magnaflow straight through design with 12” resonators. It’s now a true dual exhaust, it doesn’t sound like every other mustang out there and I get compliments on it all the time.

I actually went through several variations of this formula before landing on this (cuz Sonoma raceway always be breaking my exhaust). If your local I have a Magnaflow Y pipe that I’ll offload for next to nothing.

Can’t forget the tips!

Hope that helps OP!

I have the Thermal R&D catback and love it. Louder than stock, not obnoxious. No drone or rasp.
I was also considering the Stainless Retro Chamber exhaust before I got my current one.

it sucks about Bassani I’ve had
Some of their products before
And loved them.

We run the MBRP streets on our 24, perfect if you want something a little louder and still deep in tone.
