Thoughts on Used vs New Procharger Kits

Looking at different options for purchasing a Procharger Kit. Do you feel that this is something that should 100% be bought brand new? Or something that can be bought used without needing to worry about too many reliability issues (as long as it is inspected before purchase, which I would again come here to ask about said used item if I was considering it). I figured asking here in the V8 area since boost is more talked about here.

I purchased a used Procharger at a great price. $4500 vs at least twice that new! 5.0 stage two.

Procharger would NOT help me in any way shape or form when needing a tune as the n-gauge was locked to the original owner. Went with PBD for a new tune. Engine blew on the dyno. So my $4500 saving COST me over $10,000 by the time I got a new long block, etc, etc, etc.

You may not need to spend that much. Many vendors here have specials. Make sure you explain your goals clearly to any/all possible vendors you ask. Will you install or pay someone? Figure at least $1500 to have someone else install. Looks like you're in Cali. Make sure it meets the emission requirements.

Ah yes...emissions. So glad I will be moving to Mexhico soon..

Worst case you get to send the headunit back to Procharger and pay out of pocket for a rebuild...

There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying a used kit and saving a few grand. Look for someone that has been around a while. Either here or FB group, avoid new members/accounts. Good pictures of everything laid out neatly. Recent video of car running and you’ll be ok.
