Just finished watching the reveal video for the new civic type R and Ratti's Rides in depth over view of the vehicle. I think it looks really good personally and wouldn't mind owning one if I had the extra money to spend on one. Would never consider trading in any of my current vehicles for one.

I like it but probably would never buy one.

If they offered it in AWD it would be more tempting.

I think it looks quite nice. Much more handsome than the previous gen type R, which granted I still wasn't entirely turned off by, but it was most definitely more "boy racer".

That being said, if a trade-in to a lighter four-cylinder is in my future, I'd probably still go with a GR86. I've definitely been spoiled by the manual and RWD treatment. It's a shame the next decade (or more) will likely be devoid of such vehicles...

I'm sure there is a Honda forum somewhere for people who care about those cars.
Yep. I had a 2018 Accord with the larger turbo 4 banger. Nice car, fast, but not a Mustang GT.

It looks like a solid buy but nothing about the Type R has really ever excited me much if I'm honest.

But it's still a Honda Civic. The poster car for grocery getting soccer moms.
Ha!!! Truth!

This is my girlfriend's dream car. She likes the earlier models though as they seem more aggressive. This one seems like it is trying to appeal more to the soccer moms indeed.

SHe has 2 kids but neither play soccer (yet) LOL

Great candidate for daily beater with strong track use capability. Will retain value very well too. I'd get one in addition to mustang, as long as they are actually available to buy.

That's been moved to the Mach-E... The mom who wants to try to be cool but just doesn't fit in.

Agree to disagree, having a millennial in the family. The Honda dream for soccer mom's is the Odyssey, "such a nice interior, so much space and smooth ride honey". My son's friends love the "sporty" civics ala almost a tuner in stock config. Lancers and Civics are most frequent stop light revving dudes near me when out and about. When I was in an office large corparate space the under 35's had way more Civics and WRX's parked out there than muscle cars. So nope it doesn't have the cache of a V8 pony car but credit to Honda they have serious racing creds.

I'm hoping its underpinnings and mostly its motor upgrades make it was to the Integra Type-S. If so I'll be trading in on it. There is literally 0 ford worth buying IMO that's not a Mustang Coupe.
