David, do you happen to know when you might be releasing that how-to video esp. since some of the prior members have run into snags with the installs?

^watch the CJ pony video on stock intake removal. I will save you time. The assembly of steeda and install is pretty straight forward. Read the whole instruction first and then go back and do step by step.

Just drove around town a bit with it, man it sounds awesome. Especially upon cold start!

David, this is the hole I'm referring to.
Looks like this is an installation error, going to give you a call shortly.

Step 10 of the installation instructions explains how to modify the factory resonator - the top portion must be cut off leaving the bottom portion exposed so the plug can be inserted in correctly. In this situation, it looks like the resonator was just snapped off.

Love hearing that V8 induction noise!

Took a little less than two hours, being fairly meticulous. I goofed and forgot to reinstall the MAF sensor before I put the box in and I had to backtrack. That cost me 10-15 minutes.

David, etc., if you guys are looking for feedback, the one thing you could do that would make the installation process SIGNIFICANTLY easier would be to send the airbox with the rubber seal already installed and secured with some sort of adhesive. That thing is a bitch and a half to deal with.

My only other request would be an integrated/pre-packaged airscoop to make reverting to stock simpler. Honestly, it's no big deal. Even if I do revert, I wouldn't want that stupid thing anyway. I'd just keep the plug.

Can't wait for the tune.

Can someone that still has the stock CAI (yes, the stock unit is actually a true CAI) take a drive and document the "inlet air temperature" from your apps vs the ambient air temperature (outside temperature)?

Forgot to document this when I still had the stock unit in...

I deliberately checked mine (stock) over the course of a five hour road trip a few days ago and the difference between inlet and ambient air temperature ranged from three to four degrees F, which I was quite satisfied with.
Out of curiosity, what do your numbers range from with the new CAI?

Thanks! With it my gauge is showing about a difference of 5-6, which is perfectly normal for an aftermarket to be slightly higher than stock with an enclosed box. But obviously if my car sits in the Florida sun for a while that iat difference is around 10.

Hmmm...I'm wondering if I've installed completely correctly. When moving, I'm about +4 over ambient. However, Atlanta traffic being what it is, I have seen +50 over ambient in stop-and-go, hour drive into the office.

I'm still on the stock box and drove for 20 minutes in 70 degree ambient and the intake temp shot up+25 when I stopped for a minute at idle so 50 doesn't sound out of the question.

Just received notification that my kit has shipped! Thanks Dave (and for also letting me get in on the group purchase), can't wait to get back to the good ol' USA next week and install the kit! Good times await! :ford:

What do you recommend us use for the suggested "light lubrication"?
