Yeah I’m not sure. Been this way since I’ve owned the car. 40k miles laterIs it just me or does this ticking seem more random than usual? I'm used to hearing a consistent 'tick tick tick' but this one seems all over the place

I wasn’t walking around. I was kneeling down by wheel well.He was walking around while shooting the video, that may be it
So if it was consistent I’d worry? The BBQ tick isn't consistent. That definitely sounds like it. More pronounced than most though.
Mine happens at low speeds too. Same thing? Same noise. But I hear some people say it only happens at idle. Mine certainly doesn’tYes, mine has done it off and on at random times. And it isn't consistent . Pecks every second or so.... And yes, different oils seem to make it worse or better. Mine was loudest with Mobil 1 5w30. Got better with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and even better with Liquimoly Molygen. Also a bottle of Ceratec shuts it up immediately no matter which oil I used.![]()
I only notice at idle. I have to be outside and standing by the tire to hear it (I'm a bit deafMine happens at low speeds too. Same thing? Same noise. But I hear some people say it only happens at idle. Mine certainly doesn’t
No i still wouldn't worry. These engines are loud naturally. Injectors, DI pump, vct components. There's lots of consistent noises in the coyote. The odd ball is the BBQ tick which isn't consistent. Sometimes it only ticks very occasionally. Some tick more. Good oil will help and lots of people use ceratec to get rid of it. On my old engine I only heard this tick about 3-4 times over 5 years. I have 10k miles on my new engine now and haven't heard it at all yet. I also use pennzoil euro blend most the time.So if it was consistent I’d worry?
when I switched to pennzoil platinum it went away. Had a shop do my oil change while it was there for repairs and don’t know what oil brand they used.
it’s almost non existent when I use pennzoil platinum. I’ve always heard the tick since I’ve owned the car though. Thing is still screamin.
