Summer is winding down and we've been taking some road trips. Hour here, 2 hours there; nothing crazy, a concert, an amusement park, a friends lake house, etc...

On the open highway - GD what a rush. Slow driver in the left lane and doesn't want to move over? No problem. Sport +, cruising around 75; drop it into 4th (or 3rd, lol) give it a bit of gas and theres 10 car lengths between you and the moron driving slow in the left lane and your doing 100.

Top down or top up - I wanted to replace the exhaust but you get on the gas a bit and it's not bad. Could of been tuned a bit better for low rpm exhaust notes but if nothing else, that's a good thing when driving through the neighborhood.

Never questioned the stability; I feel safe; the car feels stable. I've gotten over the hood flutter, lol... I keep pushing it a bit, 102, 103 - the car was used when I bought it and I feel safe at 100 but I don't think I'll go much faster till I put fresh tires / breaks on it next year maybe after the snow. Never sustained; I'm not driving reckless - just a quick burst of speed to have a bit fun / pass someone when the road is clear then back down to the speed limit.

I've been a bit envious reading the GT posts; told a friend the other day I should of bought a GT; kinda want a super charger; kinda want a little more power - the intake and the tune made a huge different IMO, but I feel 410, 420hp would be a good mark to hit. I know those #s on the Ecoboost, you should consider building the engine so maybe I'll start saving up for a build over the winter or just ride out the loan and get a GT next time. Hindsight...

After driving an SUV in the low 200hp for the better part of a decade - I'm gonna be dreading the winter more then usual, lol...

F' you money can't buy happiness; look at the smile on my face when I'm driving my Mustang.

(wasn't really sure where to put this; just wanted to share my feeling - move it if needed, please)

I drive a V6 Premium Convertible. And man I do love that car. It makes me smile and it has pep in its step(as I'd like to say.) People say the v6 isn't a real mustang. 305hp isn't a slouch. I can easily leave people in the dust and my car is pulling to go faster.I'm glad my dad is going to be buying it off of me. I just got brand new tires on it in July. And I can't imagine getting rid of it for 11k (the dealer offered for trade in).

Of course I can't even imagine how fast my '18 gt with 460hp will be. I know I'll have to get used to that car before I do anything crazy. I already know I'll be driving home when I pick it up with a huge smile on my face.

2016 GT Premium, Performance package
We just did a drive from Boise, Idaho to Pasadena, California in a 2016 GT premium with the performance package. Last September we Drove from Boise to Victoria, B.C, Canada. I'm almost at 30k mikes with this and love taking it on trips. Several to Sacramento, Ca and back. I even took it to Salt Lake City just for the weekend. On a stretch of open dead interstate (in Mexico), I decided to see where my nerve ended. Lets say at 140 it is stable with more to go.
My brother just put a 2.9L whipple on his 2013 GT, and now I want 1. I dont know what numbers hes making, but he just spun the axle tube in the housing and twisted his control arms. I guess launching at 5,500 on slicks can do that.

Purchased my GT350 in Oklahoma and drove it back home to California with my dad. 1600 miles in three days. Car was just awesome on the interstate (and even better when the road gets twisty). Ford did a really good job on these cars IMO.

I just bought my 5.0 three weeks ago and can't wait for a long road trip. I drive 30 miles each way for work. There are miles of open road and I get that feeling of open highway for a little while. It's my personal bubble of happiness when I'm in it. Nothing else matters except that feeling of superiority on road the Mustang gives me.

I love these cars. Always had mustangs but the s550s are awesome. These cars are stable at excessive speeds. And with 670hp it gets there way to easily.

My car can fit two push/pull karts and two golf bags. My perfect golf trip vehicle for two.
She gets driven up and down the East Coast. Anywhere that has golf course.

This is why I buy these cars and not some sensible gas sipping sedan. I traded in my ecoboost and picked up my GT in July and I've logged over 80 hours in it already, thats over 3 full days of non-stop sitting in the car. And every time it makes me smile.

Other people seem to like it too, no end of compliments on the looks, the sound, etc. Thats the magic of the Mustang and other cars like it, not just a point A to B people mover but something you can actively enjoy at any speed.
