The Ford ESP extended warranty allow you to pay it over time which is very convenient. Just put it on a credit card and pay for it over a year. I too worry about the A/C evaporator failures, the electronics, and the all new A10 transmission. So far so good.

I gave me one for 7 years, $1535. Probably going to pull the trigger and do my absolute best to keep this thing as stock as possible until I pay it off.

Most all 3rd party warranty’s are garbage.
I would just put the money you would spend on the warranty in a savings account.
Draw from it when repairs are needed.
Or when you get a new car.

Extended warranties are a very complicated subject:

Many are total scams, so choose wisely.

Some, if faced with a very expensive repair, will refund your premium cost and cancel your policy.

You want one that specifies what is not covered; it gives them a lot less room to dance around to avoid paying a claim.

You also need to check with the dealer or repair shop you normally take your car to as there are extended warranty companies they refuse to work with.

See which extended warranty companies your dealer recommends. Some work better for one brand of car over another. For example Fidelity gets high marks from Porsche dealers but not so much from others.

If your car is modified in any way, you won't be able to get an extended warranty. Or worse, they will sell you one and disallow any claims because of the mods.

Some of the best deals on extended warranties come from the company that financed your car purchase. Unfortunately, those extended warranty companies won't sell you one if you paid cash for the car. Route 66 comes to mind.

Be glad you don't own a modded German car. You would need a whole lot more than a few thousand in the bank to cover repairs.

that was the plan but I found out after the fact that they stopped offering them a couple of years ago.. think I’ll just take my chances.. I’m kinda funny about who works on my car anyhow. I’m not saying I’m ready yank the dash for an evap but... I just really really really hope I never run into that situation..

I'd NEVER, ever, consider a 3rd party service contract (that's what they are), period. You're better off gambling that money in Vegas. The only ones worth maybe considering are the rare ones backed by the manufacturer, like the Ford's ESP. Unfortunately, it's NOT an exclusionary policy, which are the least deceiving kind. But at least there's plenty of evidence here and elsewhere that what the policy says it covers, it actually does. With all the problems possible with this car, it might be the first time in my life that I consider one. We'll see when I get closer to the end of the 3/36 warranty.

yeah Jump on it. If one major thing or even a few minor things go wrong it’ll pay for itself if you kee the car.

me I want to mod and I never like to keep a car past 3-5 years anyways...

Update..

Went to my local ford dealer and they can offer me the Premium Care Extended Service Plan for roughly $3200 and it can be paid over 24 mo.

it’ll cover me for 75k (roughly 100k in total since I have 26k now) and 4 years of coverage.

$100 deductible and a loaner vehicle should the situation requires it.

think I’ll jump on that deal. They have to do a preliminary inspection before hand.. only thing I’ve done since ownership was swap wheels and tint the windows..

Nope. Those plans cover TOTAL number of miles (since 0), and number of months (since in-service date), so be aware of that. Second, you should try dealers that offer significant discounts, like Flood Ford, or Seigler Ford. Hope this helps.

agreed. It looks like he will get another 50k miles of coverage. Not sure how many years Didn’t read far back on when purchased. 3200 is a bit for something you may not use and typically these warranties can be had for half that cost is not at least for 1k less.

I just got off the phone with Ford and it is an additional 75k miles. Not 75k total clocked miles. So it’ll expire at 101k miles... give or take depending when the plan actually starts..

I think it’s the best offering I can get for the money.. the dealer I bought it from offered a third party one that could only add 37k miles and it was about $900 less

Calling Ford directly actually gave me a better deal on it also...

Being I’m out of factory bumper to bumper places like a Flood couldn’t offer me one unfortunately.

It’s definitely worth calling.. I called the number on the FordPass app. To compare mine is a 16 GT with 26k miles and the best they could offer was an additional 75k and 4 years... just need 10% down on it and the rest can be split up in 24 mo should you desire to finance it..
