I beg to differ than dipped CF looks flat, especially considering that real carbon fiber is also flat. What makes it look deep and wet is the clear. We have a company that does our hydro-dipping that not only dips the pieces but also preps and clears the pieces to give the finish its depth as if it were CF. Check out the pieces I have done in my car, none are flat looking. It may not be everyone's cup of tea and thats understandable, but a lot of the bad wrap(pun intended) is due to fact that is very easy to do at home in a bath tub and everyone thinks they can do it. (Note: Vinyl wrapping and Hydro-dipping are two different processes. Vinyl wrapped CF is almost impossible to get it to look realistic, at least that I have seen until now. Actually Vinyl Wrapped CF looks more like actual CF before it is cleared.)
The depth of carbon fiber is due to the texture of the weave. There is no paint that can replicate that texture. It reflect lights differently depends on the direction (like fiber optic), there is no paint that can replicate the Chatoyancy effect of carbon fiber.

That's why I said the hydro-dip looks ok when its under the hood, since you are not going to have a strong light hit under the hood most of the time.

I have been seriously thinking about wrapping the side skirts. The matte grayish black looking plastic looks pretty bad imo. I am considering gloss black, deep matte black, Matte brown metallic, gloss black metallic, carbon fibre. Cant make up my mind.

Test it out with plastic dip if you like it keep it on, if you don't peel it off.

plastidip is the easiest way to get the results for trim pieces. takes very little time, and with the new glossifier out for plastidip, it looks really damn impressive. plus it's not permanent

Fake CF is like wearing a Dolex watch.
Sure, you like the look of CF...because it's on $100k cars but real. Might as well put a GT500 badge on a V6 and an Apple emblem on your Dell.
i guess it's kinda on par with wrapping your trim with real tree camo.

it is gonna be hard to wrap that...one is because it is textured. you are not gonna have a perfect wrap....

I might try the plasti dip. Used it plenty of times before, didn't think about it for this. Not sure if I want to do it black tho to match the body, I do like some sort of contrast.

Thinking of wrapping/dipping these myself, gloss black to match car. By 'myself' I probably mean pay someone else to do it. Does anyone know if you should remove them first for best results, or just mask off and paint in situ?

FYI on plastidip......if you dip plastic, then remove it later it ruins your plastic. Friend of mine did his Honda Element and the plastic looked horrible after he peeled it.

I wonder how hard they are to take off? Was thinking about getting them powdercoated if they just screw off or something.
