I’m kinda tossing this around too and I just got mine about 6 weeks ago. I have kind of a unicorn PP1 GT premium 401a with mag ride, recaros and active exhaust, 6 speed. ... Now that I type it. I’ll keep mine lol
or maybe I'll sell you mine? :)

I was think the same thing between my GT and a dark horse…

Ended up deciding to keep my GT, put a whipple on it and took a vacation to Cancun 🤷‍♂️

best luck on your decision, I don’t think the grass is greener.

Truthfully, and sorry to give the non-answer answer here, I think only you can decide whether the switch is worth it. As the answers already provided show, everyone is going to feel differently about it, and that includes you. If the idea is at least running through your mind, maybe it's worth it to try to find an example or two that you could test drive and see how you feel after that. And take your current Mustang so you are driving them back-to-back. I'm confident that will give you all the answers you're really looking for.

Thanks everyone lot's of differing thoughts and opinions. That's all more helpful than it might seem. I do think I'm going to at least try and do a test drive somewhere as many have mentioned.

Do what I did. Keep it and buy the M1 anyway. Two horses are better than one in the stable. And I don’t mean the dark horse. :ontheloo:

Here’s the perspective of someone who basically had a 2016 auto PP car I converted to PP1 spec.
If you have magna ride, I’d say don’t bother unless you’re after a car you’d be more inclined to track or show and keep. I does attract attention quite a bit which would be annoying as a daily driver for a few different reasons, and then there’s the insurance option plus 23% for the badge.

Sadly no magnaride. Would love to have it through, another of those items that make me want a mach 1.

You have to decide what you like. You haven't really complained about your current car other than the transmission is not very engaging. So you probably don't need the handling package. You also haven't really complained about the appearance of your car. I know I'm in the minority, but I think the MT-82 (at least 2015-2017) is a good transmission. After 2017 I don't like the gearing for manual transmissions in Mustangs for street driving. I think the gears are too tall, which makes the car less fun for street driving. If you consider a PP1 2015-2017 with 3.73 gears, you will notice a big difference in the manual transmission gearing vs. later MT-82s or the Tremec box.

Okay. Let me save you a TON of money. If you add this to your PP1 car, you’ll love the change and the upgrade. Bilstein. Bilstein B6 all around. IMO best thing on a PP1 to do. It’s like driving a different car from factory dampers.
I think you’ll like it a LOT. Made my 2016 a lot closer to my M1 at times than one might think. Sometimes it’s a PIA to have a special edition car.

Say IPOGT, would the Bilstein B6s you mention reduce body lean when pushing a stock non-PP GT through a tight curve? I’d like mine to be just a tad flatter when driving spiritedly. Not looking for night and day transformation.

Lets not forget about the adjustable Koni Yellows?

Leaving money off the table because we don't know your personal situation , The M1 is an awesome unique car, having a number car also adds a little fun factor. I see lots of low mileage ones by me but they are still high on the prices IMO. I Sold my Manual M1. A year later,
Just got into a low mileage pp2, this car feels special and is a little cheaper (if you can find one).
The Mt82 question, maybe the older ones had drawbacks but I think I read from around 19 up they have been improved. Mine is smooth and quiet and a little softer feel than the Tremec. Not tracking ? Then the mt82 is more than fine. Take your time and look and drive some cars. Tell yourself if the right car at the right price doesn t show up you ll keep driving what you got.
Also consider if it s a daily driver do you mind rowing gears?

You want a Steeda front bar. But the b6 will definitely help as well.

Mustangs should not be sold with Ford suspension unless it's m1 magneride, or fp track dampers.

Some enterprising dealer should rip and replace with b6 before it even hits the showroom.

I have no financial interest whatsoever. Honestly, it made a huge difference. Really, we all know they’re not gonna put that kind of quality damper on from the factory on a production car. All around more control without being harsh.

I went from a 2018 GT PP1 manual to the Mach.

If you want a manual, you will most likely enjoy the feel and ratios of the Tremec over the MT-82. I had no maintenance issues with the GT.

The GT did not have Magnaride or active exhaust so that was also something that made trading for the Mach make sense.

I do like having something less common as well but that’s definitely a personal preference thing.

Good luck!
