I dont see any reason to run a160 thermostat with those mods, unless ur in an area where it is super hot all the time.
When your motor starts pulling timing from your ECT's getting to hot you will understand. Most tuners make it so once you see 200+, it pulls timing to keep you safe.

Not at all. The engine has a 177 from the factory and still operates around 220. The 160 keeps it around 190, but oil temp will be high enough to remove the condensation.
yahtzee!!

These motors have been best seen around 180-195. I always swap to distilled water with a bottle of water wetter from redline.

Quick few questions, my thermostat is installed and all went fine. What temp should the cylinder head reflect from a stat change? My stat still reads dead center and cylinder head still reads 200-207ish at highway cruising temps. Lastly, is there any issues with running our coolant "orange" with normal prestone green coolant? I mixed the two and haven't seen any adverse effects.
I called and asked I was told to run the Orange, my head temps are running around 190-195, heat gauge is about 3/4 to the half way mark.

Thanks for the info. From my understanding the orange Motorcraft coolant is dexcool and so is the prestone any make, any model I topped it off with.
