I put the Even-Flo 160 degree thermostat in mine a couple weeks ago and my head temps stay at 200-208 at highway speeds just cruising along. If I lay into it, the temperature reading drops down to the mid-190's. This is with a Lund tune. I monitor the water temps with the my nGauge and it stays between 188-194. I was hoping for a little better cooling out it. This is at 70-75 degrees ambient air temps.

I know that the non-PP cars have a smaller radiator so I'm not sure if I need to upgrade mine to get the same results as others.

That's crazy. My stock temps are 205 cruising and 210-215 stopped. I'd think yours should be way lower

That seems high. I never see over 194 now, even sitting in traffic on a 90 degree day. Not sure if the PP radiator is the sole reason for that big of a difference.

Thankfully I don't have to worry about this for another six/seven months.

I think the bigger PP radiator definitely plays a factor. The smaller radiator allows large temp swings with a 160 and adjusted fans. A bigger radiator will definitely help stabilize a lower temp.

The base GT radiator sucks.

Lol, I always have advance trac off. My car isn't tuned for the thermostat but the temps averaged 10 degrees lower.
It's the way the Mustang is supposed to be driven. ;) only leave traction controls on during bad weather.

That's really strange, my PP reacts really well to it. 80* days and the head temps never see 200*. In fact, at first I feared it was running too cool, of course, that was only in my head. It really did drop 10-13* of my head temps.

I installed my 160 thermostat my car is non-pp and it's not running that much cooler than before. I topped off the coolant last night but the level drop after I used the car today as I expected the coolant tank is almost empty, I hope that's why I don't see much difference in the cooling. My question is if I top it off with just water wetter could I have problems because it's to much for the winter or should I just stick with pure coolant?

Installed my 170* Reische thermostat the other day. Very pleased with the results so far. Averaging 185-195 CHT from 205+ on stock thermostat with Lund tune. And the heat wash for IAT's doesn't occur as often since the fan timing matches the lowered thermostat. They aren't on as much.

It's the termostat. Many people are not see much improvement with the 160. Install a Reische 170.
