this is sad but unfortunately will be repeated over and over. many of us are old timers now, but which of us didnt drag/street race someone at some point when we were 18? its part of the psychology of being that age, i think. not sure if there is an answer, really.
No, I think it has a lot to do with maturity and how we're raised. Of course another factor is back when we were in our teens, NONE of the cars we drove could hit 100 mph unless you had a fairly long stretch of highway, definitely nowhere near the kind of power today's high-tech cars have. I think my stock '71 Mustang 302 would take a while to hit 100 with the 2V carb & single exhaust and crappy 2.79 gears. Our cars today will easily crack that in 10 seconds.

Absolutely was 150mph the wrong way in a 55mph zone. The engine of the mustang escaped and debris was scattered for two blocks. Road was closed for nearly half a day.

I went throught that intersection about 2 hours prior to the event.
Woke up to a bunch of phone calls because people just heard "White Mustang at 51 & Country Club".
And seems a UK News outlet was able to get more info that wasn't published in US news... that GT was also supercharged.

But then young stupid people have always been so enamored about what other people think, that they act like moronic douchebags. We've all gone through that phase to one extent or another.

I've been trying to figure out if it was a certain car around here that looks similar to mine, but it's a supercharged California Special. The guy that built it up may have sold it, but the kid dirving it was not a local (he may have been here for college though).

Is this the car? If so, it's not the one I was thinking, and that pic has to be at least 14 months old by the date on the paper tag.
