I’ve wanted this hood from the time I first saw it??
Couple of questions for the pros.
How is the fit on Shelby products? Just wondering about gaps and such.
It is this hood setup for the factory vent? I would have to upgrade to the carbon fiber vent from ford performance?
Factory vent works fine. Both the OEM and Ford Performance carbon vent use the same mounting hardware and locations.
The hood will fit a stock 20-22 GT500 with no issues.

Update:

Robert at Shelby American reached out today. The hood will be delivered on Monday.

That's great news, but I probably won't be here to unbox and give an assessment. My preconceived expectation is that it will be packaged well and arrive in excellent condition. I was assured a while back that if there was an issue, it would be handled satisfactorily.

When you order something like this, the delivery and packaging are the concern.
If it should be damaged during shipping, would it be replaced? The answer was a resounding yes. All they ask is for a timely inspection upon delivery. Fair enough.

Like I said, I probably won't be here for delivery. I'm working 5-9 January and then have my yearly recurrent training to attend. So my unboxing and impressions may be delayed.

Anyway, looking forward to the delivery and unboxing. I'll try to get it mounted ASAP and report my findings.

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts Tom. And maybe a few pics too once you are able?

The hood arrived on Monday. I was not there to accept the package because I was away for work.

Today, I arrived home to find the box waiting for me. All I can say is wow! Shelby American went way above and beyond in boxing and packaging this hood. It was double boxed, wrapped in protective film, Styrofoam blocks at each corner, and finished off with touch foam insulation to round out an incredible packing job. It's no wonder Shipping ran about 800 bucks, but we'll worth the result.

The hood, once the layers of protection were peeled back, was incredible. Nearly flawless with only minor (and I mean extremely minor) blemishes noted after a very detailed inspection.

The hood is so light.... I was able to hold it up in the air with one "pinky". Easily pick it up and move it around with one finger.

I dont know when I'll get to fit it to the car, but that is the only last piece of the puzzle. As long as the hood bolts on and fits correctly, i am a very happy camper.

Here are some photos of the care that Shelby American took in boxing this (dry) carbon hood that has been my unobtainium up until this point.

Well done Shelby!

Wow, that is awesome. Glad to see that Shelby took great care to keep it protected during shipping. The hood itself looks awesome. Can’t wait to see it on the car. Still planning to get it painted or are you considering running it as is? Rapid Red can be a bear to match.

Hood is a steal. On some of the other forums I'm on a quality CF hood like this would immediately have 20 to 30 dudes lined up for a group by, and the only track they see is the circuit used to drop their kids at school.

I like to disassemble things.
I know you're busy Tom but next time you access the hood can you take a photo of the underside? I'm curious about the pin location for the hood strut and if they reinforced it there.

Hood looks great.

I'm not working today. I'll fight the frigid Florida temps today and go out to take a picture.

There's your translation.

Oh, and BTW, i was in Athens on my last trip.

Both are nice. Dubai is a haul though. And you are surrounded by people who don't like you very much. At least that was my impression of the entire middle east.

agreed times eleventy, that’s why I’m only there for ~46 hours until we bail for Tokyo…where one of my past foreign exchange students is meeting me for sushi 😎
