Thought this would be a perfect place to keep track of my 2021 Mustang GT build. This is Mustang #6 for me and hopefully this is the one I keep..... The plan is to keep updating this page with new pictures on the progress, maybe some DIY stuff. The car has come a long way since I bought it but thought I'd start fresh.

Bought the car brand new a week before Covid hit, traded in my C5 Corvette convertible and 2011 Mustang GT for it. Few pics of trades...

Black accent package
Active exhaust

Base GT with only 2 options, I debated ordering one with more options but seeing as Covid had just hit around the world my dealer told me I should grab this because it doesn't look like we're going to see many new cars for a while... Had I known it was going to be that bad I would have bought half the dealership and sat on the cars for 6 to 8 months and than sold..... LOL

No car is complete with it being lowered. For some reason I decided on a set of Vogtland Sport Lowering Springs. They listed as 1.5F and 1.3R, thought this would give the perfect stance with a touch or rake..... Reviews seemed good so went with them. While getting the springs installed also went with Steeda IRS subframe alignment kit.

About a week later these springs sank pretty good giving me about 2 degree's of camber in the rear.... Handling was ok, any large dips on the highway would make me feel uneasy as it felt like the rear wasn't planted.... Slammed cars also give me a lot of anxiety. This would turn out to be the second mustang I've had to redo lowering springs on..

A little insurance goes a long way. Added the JLT catch can for a little added insurance, I've always switched my Mustangs to 10w30 oil. Almost eliminates blow by.

Finally dropped the hammer on new wheels and tires. Local club member was selling a set with brand new Nitto 555 G2 tires. Tires were new but once I got the wheels home the definitely needed some work.... Got out the polisher and used Meguires Ultimate Compound to remove all the imperfections.. Then ceramic coated the wheels for some added protection.

Wheels installed and a slight change in suspension.... Out with the Vogtland springs and in with a set of BMR lowering springs. Perfect stance and much better ride quality over the old springs.

That small fin/spoiler isn't doing it for me......

Making good on that spoiler and replacing the factory lip with a SpeedForm GT350 spoiler from AM.

With the car in storage it was time to do some binge shopping.

The only option I really wanted was the factory Sync system with 8.5" screen. Looked at so many aftermarket options but in the end went with OEM replacement from Hellhorse. Glad I did... Fantastic service from them and can't beat a clean factory finish.

How much was your hellhorse swap all in?

Also don't take this the wrong way, but I definitely wouldn't have traded those two cars for this one xD Looking good though.

The kit was around $1500, I didn't get navigation which would have added another $300.

As far as trading in the Corvette and S197, the Corvette was acquired on trade for a 2001 Camaro Z28. Although a nice car the Corvette just didn't have any options that today's cars have. It also needed a lot of work both cosmetically and mechanically. The 2011 I purchased to flip, the car had been winter driven, 186,000km on it and needed some TLC. I spent about $500 in parts, my own time and was able to turn a good profit which brought me to 2021 GT I have now. The only regret I have is trading the Camaro for the Corvette, if I could change anything I would have kept the Camaro.

Oh I gotcha, in that case I would have traded too, haha.

So trying to play catch up here so I can post things as they actually happen.

Finally went with an SR Performance X-Pipe, had been debating between an X and H pipe and finally decided on something a little loud and raspy... Haters gonna hate...

Out and about on the weekend, dropped in at Steeda in Hamilton, Ontario. Got a shop tour and a good look at some of the cars they were working on along with there own car. Talked a little about tuning and ended up buying the Steeda clutch assist spring. Great guys up there.
