Got a new 50mm Prime Lens and shot these. Still need to learn how to use it properly, and I'm not really satisfied with these shots, but will be fun to learn with it!

Awesome to hear you like them. I'm a complete rookie when it comes to this. Literally just started a couple months ago, and have done maybe 4 photoshoots or so.

Just learning as I go, taking inspiration from others.

Funny you mentioned the high contrast, I actually barely touch the contrast. Usually just a little drop in exposure, and a **** hair of addition to the contrast.

I try to keep the color as true as possible, but it's always a bit different in each shot.

I am also trying different things each time.

I've always enjoyed your shots!

Sadly, I think have a dirty sensor at this point. I keep getting dots in my image. Any insight on what causes this, how to fix it, and how to prevent it?
Yeah I know you haven't been doing it long, that's one reason I think I enjoy them so much as well because I know you are just starting out so I know you're gonna get better. I wish I started out as well as you have. Lol.

Lowering the Exposure on RAW images can bring a lot of contrast back to the image because raw files are pretty flat if you really look. Just adding any bit of contrast makes a big difference in the image.

Check your settings regarding the sensor. Some cameras have a sensor cleaning setting that you may just need to turn on. Majority of Canon's have them but I know Nikon likes to give a lot of great specs and take out the useful features. Lol. :p

What exactly displeases you with them? I think they look pretty good.

Thank you for all the info brother!

I just am not completely happy with the composition. But I attribute that to not quite being familiar with this lens.

I'll get it down. I'm a tough critic on myself!

I'm trying to get my pics on the same level as you and Digital Synapse!

I gotcha. Yeah sometimes getting a new lens can be hard to figure out the best angles because they all see slightly different and some even more than others. I will tell you one thing, if you're looking for a lot of blur, having less contrast helps, and also getting really close with distant backgrounds will help as well. Crop sensors also cut out a lot of the blur that you would see with a full frame camera and prevent you from being able to get as close with the same lens (which would get you even more blur).

I'm hard on myself as well, you have to be in order to keep improving.

Thanks for the all the kind words man. :)

My 335i. Excited to move to my GT here in a few weeks.

Nice images. This one seems to have lower highlights than the others and makes the car look funny but other than that, they look pretty good. Love the 335's a buddy of mine just sold his E46 M3 on Air Ride and AG wheels to get a newer 335.

I do notice the spots you had mentioned in a previous post. I'm not sure what camera you're using, but I would check for a sensor cleaning setting in the menu. I use a Nikon D7200 and there is a setting to have the camera clean the sensor whenever it is turned on and off.

Gorgeous motor's chaps!, I'm interested in this thread as I'm looking to place an order for a RR GT in the not too distant future (I'm from the UK)

My interest is two-fold, one being the Mustang and the other being another passion of mine - photography, i am a pro shooter and will be looking at adding vehicle photography into my line up, what better way than to start out on Mustang's!

Anyway, love your motor's, would love to shoot them!

My kit is the 1DX soon to be 1DX MKII in may...

Your dust spots in the images can be cleaned either by yourself or professionally (not expensive), the in camera sensor clean is not worth a jot in my opinion.
You have probably taken the images with a small aperture (f10-f22 possibly), this will show depth but unfortunately also all the crap attached to your sensor.
Be very careful changing lenses, keep away from wind and hold camera straight down to keep dust landing...

keep posting pics !!!

Some quick pics that I snagged today. First time branching out to the Aperture Priority mode @ 100 ISO . Feel free to critique, only way I can get better!

Thanks man! Canon T5i with the stock EF-S IS STM 18-55mm Lens. The shutter speeds really varied, but the aperture was set to 3.5 on most of them. You can see the specifics on my FlickR on each pic if you want to know more!

Thanks Nick! Your photos are always on point so it means something coming from you!
