Been a while since I've been active in here!
This past weekend I decided to pull the car out to replace the battery under its warranty. I had been having issues with it starting even though its been on a tender all winter.

I couldn't bring myself to actually take it for a drive but here it is in the driveway warming up! Luckily, I didn't take it for a drive. We started to get some snow so I figured it would be a good photo op before putting it away again!

Ive done photography for a while, been using an a6300 mostly did landscapes and wildlife but also some automotive now. Kind of want an a7riii but the camera + lenses just add up to too much for my amount of usage, so I am pretty happy with the a6300 and a variety of lenses. I seem to get my best results with 50mm f1.8 prime for automotive. Wish it had a bit more bokeh but cant complain for the price and I am happy with the results.

Nice shots! What aperture are you shooting at that doesn't give you the bokeh you're looking for? Wide open? For more background blur the easy way get as close to your subject as you can while at the same time make sure the background is as far away as possible. Better subject isolation offers better bokeh in my opinion.

Yep, both those were shot at 1.8 on the sony 50mm prime. Thats about as close as I could get and still get the whole vehicle in the shots, the bokeh is fine suppose but thats the most I could get while still getting the whole car in the shot. i did crop some on the side shot though, so maybe that could have been a bit closer.

Thanks

Wow those are some great shots! Love the intensity and clarity. The car is beautiful too!

Nice shot here. Like the golden light.

Thanks! We were walking back from a spot in the woods shooting with some guns and as we were walking by my car that just happened to be parked there I saw the sunset and just had to snap a few photos. We were going to grab her car as well(also a Mustang!) but ran out of light.
