Darin and @Epiphany @Jmeo @Tomster did your Rs or CFTPs happen to have any other literature on this besides what's above? I'm installing this rear seat delete kit and want to be able to properly secure a child seat in the front. I'm guessing I'll have to source the tether extension mentioned. If I install per the instructions, will the piece that the tether attaches to near the rear package shelf still be there? It is that something I need to be mindful of either not removing or installing? There are a bunch of tethers on the market. Would like to get the right one on the first go round.

Have you (or anyone) ever seen a child seat actually installed? Also, I'm sure it's totally legal to use a child seat in an R or a CFTP with the factory rear seat delete. You guys see any issues with doing it post factory but to factory specs? @theruleslawyer

Anything anyone can contribute would be appreciated.

The tether on the rear deck lid shelf is for when using a child seat in the front seat location, not on the seat delete.

As far as the strap, it will be supplied with the car seat. That strap will clip into the tether on the rear deck lid.

Thank you, I knew that half of that. I just didn't know if the strap came with the delete kit or not. Also didn't now if the delete kit removed that tether anchor on the package shelf. I see know it's all good. I dug through my GT350's supplement guide and now understand exactly what's up. Thanks for replying. This thread was helpful.

Anybody have any idea what the compatibility might be with a 15-17? It says 18+ and I'm curious what's not going to work with a 15-17 car...

What’s the purpose of the rear parcel tray included? If I have a 2017 GT350, do i throw out this replacemeant parcel tray or do i have to use it?

It only has one tether anchor opening for a car seat tether because you can only have a car seat in the passenger front seat. The other has 2 anchor openings.

Nice thanks for the responses. Very helpful. One last question… I have a 2017 GT350 with back seats . I typically drive with them down for the extra sound. Does the FP RSD muffle that sound compared to driving with the seats down or is it about the same?

I never drove mine with the seats down. But the thing is just a thin rug with a mild resin hardener. It has to be close to the same sound. Definitely a bit more rumble than when the seats were there because you're also losing the seat bottoms which have all the cushion.

Is weight savings the reason for this mod?
I'd think weight, nostalgia, distinction, race look and feel. I'd think the Ford engineers suggested it for weight, and the marketing guys were like, "Right on, I can play that up."

No. The tool is nice but I did it like this...

I'm drowning in 1 time use tools. Rivet guns, pocket jigs, transits, doubles and triples of everything.
I also like to cut corners and improvise. I figured I'd use the tool 1 time, so I cheaped out.
