i'm not bitter...R owners pay a premium for a reason and I don't want/like to see R parts on non-R cars...or Shelby parts on cars that aren't Shelbys...but if I have to explain it, you won't understand...that being said, it DOES look good!

The premium paid is due to impatience. I could afford to buy an R, but refuse to pay the markup set forth by dealerships. I would rather save the money, build the car to my liking, and buy an R in a few years when prices drop. Assuming something else hasn't caught my eye

You act as though you designed and engineered the car yourself, and now someone is copying your creative design. You just went out and bought a car that someone else designed and dreamed up. It doesn't make you anymore entitled to the parts than anyone else.

At times I had the same thoughts when I saw GT350 bumpers on GT35.0's, but then I realized that is the way haters think. Have to get that hate out of your heart my friend. How about you posting pictures of your car and let us all drool over it and join the community

I think it's cheaper to buy an R instead of convert a non-R to R.

Assume you buy a brand new GT350 for 60K then add these:
Carbon fiber wheels: 15K
Rear spoiler: 10K
New trunk without center holes painted: 1K+
Cup 2 tires: 2K
Front splitter: 2K+
Red R calipers: 1K
Rear seats delete kit: 900
Front grill with red badge: 900
Rear panel with red badge: 700
Springs and rear stabilizer bar: 400
R Steering wheel: 400
R recaro seats covers: 4k+
The list goes on......

It's almost 40k for the parts without labor to convert to R plus the 60k you paid for the car.
I'm sure 100k will get you a real R

Anyone taking this approach would be silly. I have not heard of anyone doing that for the same reason you stated, cost prohibitive.

Myself and a few others have used parts from the R to increase looks and performance on track, but nobody is trying to build an Exact R clone.

Throughout the history of the automobile, people have swapped parts that offer better performance. Be it tires, brakes, engines, etc. If there is a net gain available some choose to change one for another, myself included. The GT350 isn't somehow different.

Funny that Ford executives with pull got R allocations and then swapped in the rear seats from the "lesser" GT350 model. Blasphemy. The standard GT350 seats need to be priced way, way higher to prevent these attempts at cloning the clearly inferior model.

The Track/R Transmission components are here. I finally got my son to sleep long enough to open up the packages and check out the contents. Poor little guy was sick, but is on the path to recovery.

It looks like all the necessary hardware and lines are included, and packaged up well to withstand the ride on the pallet. No step by step instructions, but if you have ever done a clutch job then the removal and replacement should be easy enough. [MENTION=19066]Epiphany[/MENTION] was kind enough to send me the removal/install info from his Helm CD. That guys generousity knows no bounds, and is a definite asset to the community. The install will be done by me, on my back, in the garage. I will document as best I can and hopefully have the help of [MENTION=22191]straightliner1[/MENTION] and a few other local guys when it comes time to bench press the transmission in.

If it is being shipped to your home the delivery company they will drop it wherever you need. The transmission is not as heavy as I thought, and I was able to drag it into the garage solo cholo. Last component to order will be one of the works of art from George [MENTION=10681]MGW[/MENTION]. Anyway, on to the pics.

I remember installing a T5 into my 69 coupe on my back in a driveway while the car was up on jack stands, i can't say i envy that part of the install but once you are done its going to be great.

Sorry you are way off.

The spoiler is around 2k, with the paint job plus a brand new deck lid, it costs 4k.

Recaro seat covers do not cost 4k....

Rear seat delete is not 900
