I'm 28 and I hate most of what comes on the radio.

This sums up my feelings nicely:

hahah true. I like everything from Beyonce and Iggy, to Florida Georgia Line, to Theory of a Dead-man, to anything Dubstep/Trapstep

I'm a big fan of Kid Cudi right now - and side note - I'd pay $100/year to never have to watch ads before videos.

Man...some of yall are old

But where are my young/hip/current music people?
As a 32 year old precessional, married man and father I find it inappropriate to listen to most young/hip/current music, especially hip hop. I guess I just out grew it. I was in to hip hop as a teenager but now it makes me uncomfortable with heavy use of the N word among other things. I can't listen to that with my daughter in the car or in my neighborhood. Hell, I don't want to hear that myself. That's not the image I want to project.

I have to chime in again following the knock on Beyoncé and her lack of lyrics. I really don't like rap all that much, but I will jam to Lil Jon 'turned down for what'. Pretty much no lyrics, but the first 20 seconds of that song get me PUMPED.

Oh and another Metallica song, 'Breadfan'.

I will most definitely be playing DJ Tiesto, Hardwell, Marcus Schulz, Frontline Assembly, Front 242, Depeche Mode, Erasure (innocents) industrial, Aly & Fila, Above & Beyond and hey, I am 41 lol

Agreed, some music isn't about the lyrics. And "turn down for what" can only be truly appreciated once you watch the music video. It is genius, and absolutely hilarious. As for what image I project, couldn't care less how it makes me look if I enjoy it... after all it's just music, enjoy it and be happy.

P.S. If you have daughters in the room, don't let them watch this video lol

I am a 33 year old professional, wear-a-suit-to-work-every-day type. Pasty white Irish skin. Pretty sure the first song I play is going to be Nas' "New York State of Mind."

First song has to be Low Rider (War).

After that, turn off the music and enjoy the sound of the engine.

I have had a ritual since I bought my first 5.0 in 1989. I always christen a car with "Fake Healer" by Metal Church. It wasn't planned, just happens to be the cassette I had with me when I picked it up.
