Yes, Napa Ford. I asked for a quote for the 2019, came back at MSRP. I asked, "are you really asking MSRP for a car that's about to be 2 years old?" Response I got back is that they are discounted, were previously $2,500 over MSRP. Ok, good luck with that.Napa Ford I think
I got about 5K off MSRP back in June on a ‘19, in Tustin!Yes, Napa Ford. I asked for a quote for the 2019, came back at MSRP. 4k off MSRP on a '19 back in May. Non-essential businesses were still trying to figure out how to work in COVID.I got about 5K off MSRP back in June on a ‘19, in Tustin!
They said it was 20K off because it had a 15K ADM. Ya, keep thinking that’s a 20K discount.
That's why they still have them. Before I purchased my 20 HEP I found plenty of 2019s 5k-7k under MSRP but I really wanted a HEPYes, Napa Ford. I asked for a quote for the 2019, came back at MSRP. I think you should go for it! No downside to give it a try.So I’m over here contemplating some Hail Mary offers on 2020 R’s over the next week or so with the end of the year approaching. I’ve always enjoyed hearing from the community about how the negotiate. I’m curious if anyone else has in the past knocked it out of the park with a purchase during the last week of the year?
From my recent searches it doesn’t seem hard to find an R at MSRP or with a $2k markup. Perhaps I’m overly optimistic, but I think I’m going to be shooting for $2k under MSRP offers this week and see if any stick. I’m hopeful that as the next 10 days progress I’ll get that desperate phone call.
So anyone that’s got any previous experience with this game plan or would care to chime in about how realistic my thought process is, I’d appreciate it.
Great post! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. One I have an eye on just got delivered soooo I’m guessing the end of the year game might not work with that one, but it’s worth a shot.I think you should go for it! No downside to give it a try.
IMO, I think that the end of GT350 production will create a brief seller's market blip for the GT350R, but not necessarily for the GT350. There is still considerable nationwide inventory for the 350, but not the 350R.
If you look at each dealer individually, look for how long the 350R has been on the lot. A recent delivery may make them less likely to negotiate. If the car has been at the dealer for some time and there are other GT350s that have been there for a while, you can assume that there will be significant pressure to move them. This will also apply If there is significant new inventory that is stale across their product line.
Target a dealer the has a 350R that is NOT a HEP. I think that negotiating for those will be a little easier.
Hahaha! Too funny man. I saw that article and was pretty damn shocked as well. I need to get in touch with him to work my deals then!Give $500 to somebody's dad here who bought a GT500 for 6% under MSRP the other day at Kerry Ford in Cinci. Clearly he knows a thing or two about brow-beating a dealership into letting go of a 3mo sitting car.![]()
every day it sits on their lot they are paying for it. If they could sell a car before it even rolled off the transporter I'm sure they would prefer it even more.Great post! Thanks again!
exactly, an R at msrp is probably as much as they make on half a dozen regular cars. end of the year and winter season won’t hurt your chances.IMHO to purchase an R at MSRP is a fair deal for all parties. That is what I paid for my R....
but it's cold, getting colder, and you may find an antsy dealer... go for it!
