I am starting my search again for a GT350 and I found one with a $5k ADM, but then I called another dealer in the Sacramento area and they for me that they have a Grabber Blue coming in and the price tag is $108,000. I felt so bad for the sales guy on the phone because I could not stop laughing. I said thank you for the info but no thank you and said goodbye. About 15mins later he called me back and said that he had talk to the manager and the price was now $72,000 I told them about the other dealer and said if the deal fell through I would give them a call back.

Your better off going out of state, California dealers are crazy, I ordered my car from Florida and having it shipped to a dealer in Tustin
Good Luck

What a journey this has been. I plan to post a thread in more detail with photos, etc. tomorrow as it's late tonight and this time change is kicking my butt.

Anyway.... rewind back to last Saturday as I was literally on my way out the door to meet the notary to sign the paperwork on my GT350R being shipped to me out of Texas. Without getting into too much detail I was paying $78k including all license, fees, ADM, etc. shipped to my door in LA. Original sticker on the car was $66k so the effective ADM was minimal. One of the better deals I had seen other than those lucky enough (or connected enough) to pay sticker for an R-model. Well low and behold as I was lying in bed that Saturday morning I popped onto the forum and was greeted by news of the now all too familiar recall. Long and the short of it is that I called the dealer right away and they checked Oasis and as you're likely already guessing... they couldn't sell me the car. We're talking well over two months of searching, negotiating, working down the price at multiple dealerships, etc. out the window.

Well not entirely… Along the way I had found a (relatively) local dealership down in San Diego that agreed to order a 2017 GT350 (non-R) for me to my specifications at MSRP. Still early on in my search I knew this was a deal not to pass up and so I placed an order for the car in August with the Electronics Package (2017 so includes pretty much everything else) and continued my hunt for the R. Well let's just say boy am I glad I did. This non-R missed being subject to the recall by mere weeks and not only did they honor my original deal (including turning down offers from other buyers at over MSRP) but they got me financed at 2.49% for 72 months, $0 down and no payments until February. The dealer, Perry Ford out of San Diego, was hands down the easiest to deal with of any dealer I've ever purchased from (saying a lot as I have 4 cars currently and have owned multiple Porsches, BMWs, Mercedes, etc). The staff was extremely attentive and Stefan and Anthony, whom I purchased from, were class acts all the way. Kam, the GSM, was also stellar and even called me to tell me that owner of the dealership Mr. Perry was clear with everyone that the deal they made with me was to be honored as they had given their word, despite the other offers for more money. Needless to say I am totally impressed.

After another disappointing finish for the Rams today my wife and I took the train down to SD to pick up the car and just got home not too long ago. The ride home was nothing shy of awesome and allowed me to get a few hundred highway miles on the car.

As for the R-model I still have the deposit in place and will decide when the recall is resolved what I will do, but in the meantime I plan to daily drive the 350 (something I would not have done with the R) and be thankful this all came together as it did. Strong likelihood I may let the R go and if I do I'll be reaching back out to let people know to PM me if interested. For the time being, however, I plan to keep my deposit as the car can't be sold 'til next year regardless.

A special shoutout to PP0001 who has been an amazing sounding board and mentor throughout this process. I am extremely thankful for this group and plan to be even more active now that I actually have a GT350 parked in my garage. :ford:

First and formost the new Camaro's are freaking ugly. Second, who says they are building GT350s after 17?
First: agreed! Camaro's are ugly.

Second: my connection within Ford told me last week that Ford is extending GT350 production for an additional 2 model years (18-19).

I'm not going to comment on the looks of the ZL1. I will caution those who want a ZL1 as a track car. The LT4 is good for 2-3 laps before heat soak takes it's toll. Ask the Z06 guys.

As a fun street car the ZL1 might be a great choice but if you want a track car, stick with the N/A GT350 and 350R

Could be good I guess.... Maybe I'll save a little money and get a 2019 R.

I've talked to a couple people at Perry Ford and they seem nice enough. They didn't want to go to msrp for me though. I believe the one I wanted was one they bought from another dealer and if I remember correctly, they said they paid over msrp for it. They had 6 gt350's on the lot but I guess they are down to 5 now.

I know they have a few locations. Mine was the only one they had and it was ordered by me to my specific specs back in August. Sounds like maybe the Vista location has a bunch of 2016's? I know South Bay Ford here in LA was in a similar boat in which they paid other dealers a fortune and they can't move them. Now with the recall and MY2017 having the track pack equivalent with all of the electronic package avail with the coolers and the new upgrades such as CarPlay/Android Auto they're likely to take a bath.

hard to feel sorry for a dealer that was betting on higher ADMs. If the rumors of 2 more years holds true it will almost certainly crush ADMs. By then the 1LE will be out and competitive at 10k less, and the C7 GS / ZLI may appeal to folks that want a dedicated track car or more HP. It wont be the darling at its price point any longer, just a cool car with a special engine.

Possibly, but I'm going to bet GM learned from that debacle. For competitions sake I hope there is enough cooler for the job.

Don't feel sorry them in the slightest. It's business and a calculated risk for them, as they well know. If they lose on these they'll make it back on something else, likely the Raptors. Just glad I was able to buy at MSRP without having to go out of state. :headbang:

Congrats, good score for out here.
Nice to hear they honored your deal, quite rare nowadays, people
and businesses that keep their word !

What color, options ? Any track time planned ?
I am in contact with a few in the area that just got GT350 and
some R's, some track time in the near future !

MY17 Black with white OTT w/ electronics package. Pics when I get around to putting a thread together. The GT350 will make it in the rotation as my daily driver, along with my 4Runner. While I wasn't planning on modding the R-model I am already starting to look at a few bolt on options for the GT350 and definitely planning to track it. Please let me know any details if you're planning something. Also, is there is a SoCal FB page? While I am on Rennlist the GT4 guys and gals in SoCal are far more active on our FB page so was hoping to find something similar for us GT350/R folks here locally to connect. If it doesn't exist maybe I'll throw one together.

Taking it this weekend for full detail, paint correction, xpel wrap, and Modesta glass coating on the paint, wrap, and wheels so trying not to go to crazy til that's done.

The thing I don't understand is that there are tens almost hundreds available. If I search on Ford.com with my zip code it finds 79 GT350s and 11 GT350Rs and still some dealers are acting like they have a Ford GT in their showrooms asking $5k to $50k for Non R's. I don't get it and I blame Ford. They should sell limited edition cars like the Boss, GT350, and GT500 like they are selling the Ford GT, directly. (Minus the application process) Im seriously almost considering a Z06, lol. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops and find dealers nice enough to sell their product without having to been over.
