First NO one in here like ADM's nor in favor of them. It's just the reality. I do have a question though to someone that won't pay it or just out right hates them. I'm just asking with no disrespect to you, I want to make that clear.
Are you car guys not so much Mustang guys? Again I payed an ADM for a ShelbyGT350 because I'm a Mustang guy, always have been. So I really wanted this car. Now when the Z28 came out, great car but I wouldn't pay an ADM to get one. Same as a Viper or a HellCat I'm not paying an ADM for it. This GT350 is prob the only car I'd do it for, but again I'm a real fan of the Mustang Shelby. As far as losing $ once off the lot, that didnt concern me, I have no intention of selling the car so the value of the car is only personal to me.[/Q

Could not have been better said I'm a Mustang guy since I saw Bullitt the first time.
It's not the fact that I like or dislike ADM's, its the point, am I going to rent space in my head and rant over something I have no control over, period.......... ;)

I would think the only ones in here in favor of an ADM's are members that own a Ford dealership. Lol.
Eh Im pretty sure a Sales Advisor profits too when they sell a car well over sticker.

As a comparison the M4 GTS is limited to 200 US allocations ever, performs like a 911 GT3, and was available at less ADM than some of these NON-R GT350s. I can understand the ADM more on the R.

Its cool I'll eventually get one at MSRP or less if I stay vigilant. I 100% believe that. Luckily im not in a rush as I have my badass M3 to hold me over. ;)

I emailed my agent to see how they would handle this situation. I'm not super worried either way since I paid sticker, but will know for sure shortly.
Spa,kr22 I didn't mean any disrespect or to cause argument about insured value .Spa understand the premis of stated value value insurance .My concerns or question was in reference to kr stating book value being 68-74 and that if something Unfortunatley happens he would think he would get that under a regular policy .Once again I mean no disrespect just trying to clear misinformation about insurance .
Unfortunatley I don't own a 350 yet but have been lurking and searching since the first announcements of release unfortunatley I personally can't bring myself to pay adm.If anyone else had to pay adm it's none of my buisness and I'm happy that your enjoying your cars while I'm still trying to catch the unicorn .
Just to provide some clarification on the insurance end of this:

If you have an agreed amount policy, the insurance company will pay you the agreed (agreed upon by you as the insured and with the insurer)

A stated amount policy is not as good as an agreed amount policy because the insurer has the option to pay you up to the stated amount, but could hit you with depreciation or find a replacement cost figure that is lower than the stated amount

A typical auto insurance policy is under Actual Cash Value(ACV). This is the value of the vehicle, less depreciation. Every insurance company handles their claim processes different, but an example of how they would handle a total loss under a normal ACV policy would be as follows:

You total your 2000 Mustang GT. Insurance company checks window sticker options, asks you what other options it may have had and then runs reports. Typically these reports include KBB, and then they also check to see what the current market value of the vehicle is by going within 100 miles of your zip code and finding similarly optioned vehicles that have sold within last 60 days or so and they find a number somewhere in the middle. The last time I saw one of these reports they looked up 4 vehicles, 3 of them had the same trim level as the vehicle that had the total loss, and the 4th vehicle had a lower trim and therefor sold for less money which dropped the total offer to my client down a bit. I was able to negotiate with the insurance company and have them remove that 4th vehicle all together so they used the average of the 3 and it brought up the settlement amount slightly.

It would be very interesting to see how an insurance company handles a total loss on the Shelby, especially with all of the ADMs. If you got yours as MSRP and then had a total loss and the closest 4 that sold all had $10k ADM, you may actually come out ahead. It is not unheard of.

So, I do not want to make any comments on whether I agree with ADM or not, but over the past few days I have received numerous calls and emails about the 2017's. I was personally hoping that 2017 would see a decrease of ADM's or, and this was wishful, significantly more MSRP deals.
Unfortunately, it appears that this is not the case. Every single dealer that has called me is either the same markup or more! Just today, a dealer that was at $7500 September of last year asked $15k for a 2017. When I explained that this was crazy, he said there are "10 guys behind me who will jump on this". I was nice but obviously passed on the deals.
Just something for you guys who are on the fence about certain deals to think about.

I agree, I don't think anyone but the dealers like ADM.
I would not have paid it, because for me, it was stretch to justify
this much money on a toy at this point in life.
Now if I had a bigger bank account and it was the only way I could get it, I would have paid an ADM like others have. I was very fortunate to get my deal at MSRP.
It is a sin ADM's are going up. For Ford to have built such an amazing car
for all of us muscle car guys and then the dealers to make it out of reach for many
is a crime. Hopefully the z-28 comes out, the GT500 comes along with a few others
and puts this car back to MSRP for those who truly want it.

My apologies if this topic has been covered already for 2017's but I just spoke to my dealer regarding his 17' allocations and he mentioned that the "R" lottery program used for some the 2016's is no longer in effect. He is suppose to get his official allocations next week.

Not sure if that matters to anyone but I figured I would share.

Interestingly, I spoke with a dealer owner quite some time ago here in CT and he had won one of the 2016 "R" allocations via this lottery program. His first inclination was to sell the car north of $30k ADM but then decided to keep it for himself.

Maybe by stopping the lottery it will help weed out greedy dealers from hoarding their cars meant for retail sale.

When a dealer says to you "there are 10 guys behind me who will jump on this" that is most definitely BS (amongst other common BS lines.)

I've been told that by numerous dealers including this one...

http://encinitasford.com/New-2016-Ford-Shelby-GT350-Encinitas-CA/vd/32606921

I bought my '08 Bullitt from them and my '14 F-150 Platinum, and I tried to buy that car and was told all the usual BS lines including "another dealer offered us $10k over for it" and "there's another buyer coming in tomorrow offering $15k over" etc. etc. That car has been sitting on their lot for 4+ months, outside even. I'll never buy another car from them. I've said it before, car salesman are professional liars. Don't buy their BS.

I would generally agree with you, however in Texas I believe this might be true. I was fortunate enough to get in with one of the few good ones who aren't trying to take advantage of me.
Overall, I really feel it is geographically dependent and certain places (California, Texas, Florida) are paying more than the national average.

Seems like plenty are in favor of them by the comments. But thats my interpretation.

My first 4 cars I ever owned were Mustangs but its been almost 15 years since I had one. Im definitely a car guy not a Mustang guy. I've owned Mustangs, BMW Ms, F-bodies, Vettes, a lightning, a 911, etc.

But hey everyone has their own money and if youre willing to pay the ADM and the car makes you that happy Im all for it. There are very few things I would pay over retail for in this world. Im just naturally frugal.
Two things.

You really think that most/plenty of us Mustang/Shelby enthusiasts are in favor of an ADM and just want to spend our hard earned money frivolously?

Really!

Secondly if you are not a Mustang guy as stated above why are you on this forum?

I asked the question that he was answering for me. I think most the guys with the biggest problem of ADM's were more car enthusiast rather than Mustang/Shelby enthusiast. As I wrote I'd never pay an ADM on a Z28, Viper or even a HellCat but did pay it on a GT 350. I'm a Mustang guy more than a car guy. Again I hate the ADM but I wanted this car.

I was exactly what you are describing. Have never owned a ford in my life, usually stuck to Japanese vehicles. The last mustang I would have considered was an early 90's 5.0. That is largely because they were popular when I was in HS and I thought they were "cool". Since that body style, no mustangs have really drawn my attention. The GT350 did just that though.
