My review of the AQUA CREST Inline Water Filter. It cost $22. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088M97TDY
It works great. Compared to before, the quality of the wash is significantly better. I did not think the water spots I had were bad, but they were, and they are almost all gone. Now, this result is for my water conditions. I did not get a water tester. I will do that.
It was only used for the final rinse so it should last for a lot of washes.
I would/will buy it again, and I say that without knowing how long it will last.

For your sake, I hope so, Tony but based on the softener tube you posted, don't be surprised if you get less time than you think.

Tony: Definitely get a water tester or at least test strips so you can determine just how much of the mineral content is removed when the cartridge is new. Test the unsoftened house water first, then test the output after the filter and compare. (The hardware testers are more accurate than strips.)

Once you know the the number for the output, you can compare the original number with what you get during the checks, (I would check it every six washes or so,) and after a couple of these tests, you'll have a good idea as to how long it will last before needing replaced.

FWIW, I get about a year from the CR-Spotless double Big Blue tubes and CR's cartridges (based on average two washes per month.) Here are a couple three shots of my rig so you can see the difference in size and hence capacity.

This system knocks my hardness down by, on average, about 200-300ppm softer than the softened house water.

Happy to hear you're tickled with the reduction in water spotting. Good luck AND, have fun!

@DFB5.0 I have read through most of your posts for car care and you have everything down to a T and I'm sure everyone thanks you for that including me. I do have one question for you. Is there anything that can be done with keeping flies from sitting on a car and leaving their little poop spots all over it? It just seems they are attracted to my car more than any other car I own. Its really frustrating that after washing the dang flies are back before you put the hose down.

Sadly, I don't have a remedy for that.

Did a full Autumn decon wash on my Mazda last weekend. Did an initial foam with Gyeon Foam. While that was soaking I used some Brake Buster on the wheels and some Stjarnagloss Forst on the tires. That gave the Foam time to soak for a bit then rinsed. I then used quite a bit of my Stjarnagloss Hjul wheel cleaner all over the paint. I am not a fan of it for wheels, but it does have sufficient iron removing properties and did a decent job breaking down the iron particles. Another thorough rinse and after the rinse, all the stuck on stuff that I could feel was gone so no Decon towel was necessary. Followed with CarPro Descale in the bucket wash and again a thorough rinse for the acidic soap Foamed on a bit of Gyeon Bathe+ in my IK foamer then a DI rinse and a blow dry. A little CarPro Darkside on the tires for the cherry on top,. A little time consuming but really brought my CanCoat Evo back to life and hope it stays strong thru the winter :)
