Is there a way to test the throttle body on these cars?

You would get a wrench light and a code if u had TB issues. Same with TPS sensor at pedal assembly.

What type of test are you wishing for??
What's happening im getting some idle surge. It's random. I have the popping that's in the CAI that I'm hearing as well. There's no CEL. Power is ok.

I had vacuum lines done a couple weeks ago. And it ran like a dream. The exhaust tone changed a little. Wasn't as raspy. Sounded fine though. Car was much smoother.

Well, I put in subs and whatnot. It went fine. I noticed the car ran back to the same when I started it back up.

 I'M DIZZY............can you change the Drive Mode from "Normal" to "Track" and feel "mushy" the throttle feels in the "Track Mode"??

If so I'd expect the TB is OK.........that's all I can offer from here??:)

There's another post with a POP coming from the CAI. People are saying spark plugs, some are saying online (other source), that it could be a throttle body.

On idle, it shakes a little. Not super aggressive, but definitely noticeable.

If you shut the car off to go into the gas station or something, and try to come out and start it again. It will drop a little below 500rpm. Then come back up. Sometimes you see the Vac gauge move. Sometimes you don't.

Is there an idle relearn?

I occasionally have the same issue. I was thinking of removing the air intake and spraying some carb cleaner in the throttle body. I had a G35 years ago with a similar condition and the carb cleaner solved it.

I had an issue like this on my 2015 GT where it would dip so low at stops the low oil pressure light would come on. The dealer couldn’t duplicate it so they did nothing. It did it from stock with 6miles on it till about 60k when I had a tune installed and he bumped the idle up. Still surges but doesn’t go so low that the oil pressure light would come on and car would shake as it did before.

It could be so many things.

You need to get forscan or go to a dealer and run a cylinder balance test. This will tell you if it is running on all cylinders and the general health of the engine.

The popping could be normal and could be one reason the stock cai has a helmholtz resonator.

Searching and stumbled here. I'll be checking my TB soon, similar symptoms. Basically I'll get sporadic RPM drop when at idle (like a light). Can't replicate and isn't every time I drive. I've done spark plugs, checked for vacuum leak, pulled codes, monitored fuel rail all without clear resolution. Also Ford diagnostic told me the car was fine.

I'm going tonsee if the TB is dirty and try cleaning. I read TPS could also go bad. We're you able to fix?
