How long are you guys or did you guys wait to "get on it"??? I am 2 days in and at 170 mi. Just curious I was about to yesterday but there was a cop hiding out. I am pretty sure 100 mi is sufficient but just curious what everyone else is doing.

Got "on it" after the first right turn out of the dealer. FWIW, the car doesn't seem to unlock its full potential until about 200-250 miles. Also, I find Sport+ to be the best driving mode.

I waited until 200+ miles to really get on it, but still kept the revs below 6,000 rpm. It wasn't until 1,000 mi until I ran it to the redline -- was cool to see the tach turn red!

Agree about the sport mode -- first thing I do after starting the car.

Full throttle right out of the dealer lot. Took it to redline merging on the highway home. Motors just don't need the babying they used to.

I opened her up after 100 miles I've hit red line a few times but I'm trying to take her easy for the most part. I just hit some windy roads tonight and OMFG can this thing handle! It's amazing! I had her in Track Mode and Sport steering and she just stuck in the corners. I want to take her on a road track really bad! I've had her since Wednesday night and she has 360 miles on her.

So I guess it really depends on the owners definition of "Too Fast" and "Labor"...

That what I figure as well.

I'll stick to the break-in that was suggested for my outgoing vehicle even if it's not necessary: 1,000 mile period, keep time in the 4k+ RPM range to a minimum, keep speeds below 90-100 mph, vary up driving style.

I know there isn't any proof or exact science to support a proper break-in, so this is strictly for my peace of mind in a superstitious sort of way.

I kept mine under 4K rpm for the 1st 500 miles (within the 1st 5 days of driving off the lot). This weekend I went mid 5Ks in 4th and 5th. With the 3.55's that took me way above the speed limit... The car was absolutely stable, smooth surge of seamless power, no drama. This particular car feels noticeably more powerful than my 2013 GT. LOVE this car!

If you baby your car during break-in, you'll get a baby. Break it in as you intend to drive it. That's how I've broken in every new Mustang I've ever owned and mine tend to be a little quicker than average and I've never had engine problems.

This!! I broke in my 01/03 Cobra the same way.

Is there any evidence that supports this? ^ I've heard that but never received anything beyond anecdotes. I'd imagine the only way you could figure this out is by owning two identical cars and breaking them in using different methods. That's a pricey way to figure things out.

I plan on running her pretty hard right out of the gate. Not going to the drag strip hard, but definitely not going to baby her. Drive it like you stole it!
