I have a decent size paint chip on my drivers rear quarter right behind the door. Just received my Dr. Colorchip kit, but I'm nervous about spreading all that stuff on such a conspicuous part of the car. So I'm considering creating a chip on the inside of the trunk lid and practicing the repair on that. Would you do it? Or do I literally have nothing to fear because there is no way to screw it up?

use per directions; it works as advertised. difficulr to build it up to flush level, but it'll hide pretty well.

Is that a scientific assessment?
Better than scientific.

Scientific said the ice caps would be totally gone by now.

You'll be fine. I've used it tons of times per directions and not. I even found a spot I forgot about, and it had sat on the paint for a couple weeks. It still came off with the blending solution. Took a lot more elbow grease, but it did come off. Nothing to worry about.

Actually I supppse I could just practice on the inside of the trunk without creating a chip. I mainly just want to see how easily the excess comes off.

I've used it on several vehicles, just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

Can't mess it up. Take your time with the layers and it'll look amazing. Screw up? Just wipe it off and try it again.

I saw it used on a GT350 and have used it on mine several times. The excess come off easily both right after application and, as mentioned, can be removed even after drying if needed.
