I have the Dr. Colorchip paint kit but the paint is for Guard (My last car). Is there really any difference in the actual paint from the paint I can get at the dealership?

I would rather spend $12 than $30 on a bottle from Dr. Colorchip. Plus I could just pick it up. Then I would just use the compound as directed

According to drcolorchip their blending solution isn't compatible with any paint but what they sell. Since the blending compound is important to the system, you won't be able to buy it from the dealer.

The blending solution is actually their ultra proprietary secret sauce...so, no they ain't the same thing. I do recommend Dr Colorchip thou, the color match is good and the application is easy, well worth it in my book.
