Took a black 2015 Mustang GT out for a short test drive today. Let me begin with the positives.

The car looks fantastic, far better in person than in pictures as the saying has become.

The interior is a big upgrade. Having said that, there is still room for improvements but at least there is nothing to fell upset by when you pay for and bring your car home.

It's a better car overall, better ride quality, generally better build quality, more refined sounding and driving. Reminded me of an Audi in the drive actually.

Brakes are miles above the previous car in feel, modulation and stopping power.

Power was decent, but not overwhelming although this was an Auto, non PP car.

I wish the exhaust was a bit more pronounced with perhaps the option to open baffles for an even more aggressive sound.

The cornering of the car was improved in terms of mid corner bumps but felt less sharp than my current car

Biggest complaint; hood flex. As bad as a mid 80's convertible the hood juddered, flexed and shakes in the drivers eye view. This is a big problem for me. .

Does PP add a brace in the engine compartment? Most of the reviews seem to be positive on body roll and front visuals, but then most of them had PP units or at least pre production units that may have had the components anyway.

I hope so. I wanted to love the car, but merely liked it. Hopefully a manual and the PP will make a difference.

Yes, but can easily be added to a non-PP car.

This is the first I've read about this on the 2015... and I've never seen a hood flex while driving on any car I've owned.

Fair evaluation, especially considering it's from the owner of what is arguably one of the best model Mustangs ever made.

Was it a premium car? 3.15s or 3.55's? the more I hear about it the more I am beginning to suspect that the reason why Ford offered 3.55 gears as an option from the factory was due to the fact that was an auto in stock form the car might feel a bit underwhelming with 3.15s

I didn't notice that on mine, will give it a closer look at.

I hadn't seen it on any modern car as well, thus my reference to an 80's convertible where cowl shake was almost a given. When I pointed it out to the salesman, he even was surprised. Don't think he'd noticed it before. Overall I suppose it could be considered a minor issue but it would be enough to stop me buying the car. I will try and get out in a PP equipped car and see how that compares.

Hopefully you don't have it. Watch the flat area to the right of the character line on the hood just ahead of the windshield for play in reflected light.

Will be curious to hear...

I was already planning on putting the LE Strut Tower Brace on my car to go along with the 50th Anniversary Package. So maybe that will cure it.

Appreciate the comment. Not sure what the gearing was as I wasn't really interested in the car being it was an auto but I did figure it was a chance to get put and drive one and get the lay of the land. A lot to love, but I'm not willing to compromise on my next car and this particular car felt a bit too compromised for my tastes. Maybe that's where my Audi comment comes from, decent enough cars but nothing they offer outside the R8 has ever thrilled me or satisfied me enough to buy one in spite of nice design, excellent fit and finish and industry leading interiors. They just lacked that extra something. Mustangs have always been rough, somewhat unrefined cars yet somehow they delivered more than you expected. Perhaps the new Mustangs playing field elevates expectations? In any case, I will drive as many as I can before decided to trade in my current Mustang. Like I said, I like it overall but not in love yet.

Thanks. I'm a Mustang fan of course, but a car enthusiast first and foremost, so I tried to approach the car with as little bias as possible. On another note, black had underwhelmed me in photos but it looks great in person. I won't be buying black though as I've gone that direction twice before and learned my lesson.

Is it possible this was/is a QC issue that got past inspectors at FRAP? Is be interested to see if any other folks have noticed this problem. I'd also be interested to see some feedback/reaction from someone Ford-connected to understand if this is an issue they're aware of.

I asked the same question of the salesman and suggested the service dept take a look at the car. I may be an early build and my early build Boss was delivered with about a dozen front side fasteners loose and needing to be torqued down by the dealer. I may revisit this car.

My 05 had that and it was just a matter of adjusting the rubber stoppers. Raised it 2 turns and never had another issue.
